This show wasn't genius, but it was entertaining enough that "wannabe" seems a little harsh (I know, it's got to be one of the three, that's the rules).

I do wonder how this will turn out. A lot of BBC docs these days are in the "on camera narrator on a journey of discovery" style (for which there is probably a technical term I apologize for not knowing).

It might also help to clarify that relationship between "power" and "responsibility".

There's a "Zeno's Paradox of Film-making" joke in there somewhere.

True, though she also just missed out on "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" which, given the earlier part of her career, would have been a more appropriate final bow.

What are the odds The Man in the High Castle finally got made because it was pitched as a supernatural thriller about consulting the I Ching?

Fargo and Hannibal are at least in the same thematic ball park as the original movies.

Thanks, for the clarification.

I'm fine with it. As far as we know, it's just a teletype to another place on Earth, not to another dimension. That's not an original idea. :-)

The Simpsons time slot was opposite the Cosby show for a little while.

Spoilers yada yada

Interstellar got nominated for best sound mixing?

I haven't read any le Carré. Is his dialog that bad?

I'm wondering if the Ant Man movie made the Warner folks say, hey, where's our shrinking guy!

"Deadline says Covert Affairs was pulling in fairly solid ratings when people who watch new episodes a week later on their DVRs are taken into account, but the same day ratings seem like they were pretty terrible."

Here's a verbose exposition of it:

DC be ending the Silver Age like this, but Marvel be ending the Silver Age like this.

In the buffyverse, demons and tech don't get along very well, so even such a simple device qualifies him as the Lex Luthor of vampires.

Not to mention the telepathy.

It would have been amusing (and educational) if after all the effort, the "Ape Ray" did nothing, because humans are already apes.
