Article wasn’t saying the anime is bad. It said repeatedly that the anime has been well received and is great. It was just saying a great anime doesn’t make the manga obsolete. I’m pretty sure Saitama can beat any iteration of Superman, even the one that sneezed a solar system away, for the sole reason that Saitama is a gag character. His whole shtick is to beat everything in one punch (well, not everything), as long as Saitama is in character, he will win.
They’re actually meant to evoke those clay figures you see in games and stuff. They’re more aztec, honestly. Each group like this has something like it. Subterrean are Aztec people, Sky are Japanese royalty, and Sea are european.

Stop images from an animated series most likely will have less movement then manga tho. Because one needs to emphasize the movement for the still images in manga. The manga tho is seriously awesome and the anime is equally awesome.
