... the irrepressible taint of Phoenix.

It looked like some kind of, I don’t know, fire drill perhaps?

Croll Tried!

Say what you will about Jill Ellis’s decision making, but not playing your 37 year old aging star for all 630+ minutes of game time was probably a pretty sound decision.

A fair criticism. Unfortunately it leaves out a line:

Looking at LeBron’s career, is this CYA, have-it-both-ways pragmatism all that surprising?

When building his Heat, 2nd Cleveland, and Lakers teams, he always dictated how the team would be built and which Old Guy/James Jones he wanted on the team. But the minute the team he had constructed wobbled, he was out,

On the other side, Bulgarian goalkeeper Plamen Iliev accused the English players of “overreact[ing],”

That is total bullshit by LeBron. A real man would tell the truth and speak his mind no matter the consequences.

A good time to remember that Colin Kaepernick gave up his job and all the considerable perks that come with it to stand up against injustice, while LeBron James, whose legacy and bank account are both more secure, is unwilling to risk even a small fraction of future earnings to speak on one of the few world issues

I understand the players are caught between a rock and a hard place. But this has to be one of the most craven capitulations to money I have ever seen by a major athlete. Should have kept quiet. His rationale is bullshit.

I know that Mahomes is an absolute fucking wizard at playing QB but there’s zero chance he noticed Kelce getting mugged near the line of scrimmage AND throwing the ball 50 yards downfield at basically the exact same time if you watch that replay. I think the “I threw it because I saw the flag” is just him covering his

“Sure, properly roasted vegetables are delicious and good for you, but have you tried adding sugar?"

I wouldn’t call it sloppy justice: just regular justice. There haven’t been many more obvious situations where a make-up call is going to come immediately, and shame on Sanchez for taking such a close pitch after lying about fouling off the previous pitch when he clearly swung and missed. Sure, strike three was a

In general, I’m not in favor of make up calls because most applications of them will leave the ump’s fingerprint on the game, even if just subtly.

There’s also the fact that if Sanchez had run to first instead of making the argument that he tipped it, he might actually have made it, that ball BOUNCED. I guess in the end what he did worked for the time being, but still...

Do you think that all opiate addicts, or even a majority of them, were originally prescribed pain killers by their doctors?

Can someone explain to me why all cigarette addicts are viewed as the biggest idiots on the planet, whereas all opiate addicts are viewed as the biggest victims on the planet?

Fangraphs had a write up on this too.

Something, somthing, Rounders, something.
