Tangentially related: Max Rebo has pulled his music from Spotify, so something is up.

I think Order 66 which has killed almost all of the Jedi maybe says to Luke ‘no attachments’ and now he is asking Grogu who may not understand all that is going on, has to choose living alone with Luke or travelling the interesting galaxy with a protector.

The other problem with James analysis is that he’s always bad at analysis.

A lot of these problems of filling the gap between ROTJ and the TLJ are due to the extreme failures and decisions made on Luke’s character in the Sequel trilogy.

Yeah I’m with you.  He was concerned that Grogu didn’t have his heart in his training.  And since Grogu had basically been forced into the temple as a young child (as most Jedi were, never really given a choice) here is Luke offering Grogu a choice to remain on his current path, or go back to the path of family that

Its not just that he gave Grogu a choice. He gave him a very specific choice, framed in a very specific way.

I say trust in Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. Those two have given Star Wars a new lease on life after our hopes were dashed and the fandom was torn apart with The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. They have the love and deep deep understanding of Star Wars that Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrams just don’t have.

I’d love it if Luke continues to train Grogu because he picks Mando, just allowing him to come and go.

I felt that he maybe was only offering him the choice out of a jerk reaction, to distance himself from the “like your father” comparison and maybe he now truly wants to bring back Jedi sans attachment to avoid another Anakin. But there is so little emotional depth to the performance it’s hard to tell.

The problem is that, while this was easily the best episode so far, Filoni was at the helm and that guy knows and loves star wars enough not to screw it up (and if we think he did then he has a beautiful reason why he did what he did). This is a problem because this isn't his show and others are going to take us in

Really it just seems frustration over the fact that the Luke of the Disney Star Wars is not the Luke of the EU, who went on to found a mighty academy, restored the Jedi’s glory, hooked up with a fellow Force User, and had a brood of Jedi kids.

Yeah I gotta disagree with James’ framing of Luke here as cold or uncaring when offering the choice. That isn’t the vibe I got at all.

But how else are we going to know they feel validated?!

At the same time, he could be attempting to learn from his own training failures and over compensating with the “sacred Jedi texts,” something Yoda scolds him for in TLJ. I think the real problem is try to write him into the failure he becomes because we’re now stuck with that as his future.

Yep, that book scared the shit out of me and I have no desire to re-read it. Kudos to the author for making such a damn scary novel. I haven’t been that shaken since reading “Let the Right One In.”

Not gonna lie, when MC (John-117) grabbed the artifact, I was having flashbacks to Holden inside the Ring Station.

I have a feeling that for you typing up that response was better than sex.

I didn’t expect John to sound so much like Mando

The Warp Zone guys have two Halo music vids, and while both are good, the first one is best:
