2nd gear:

6th gen?  The LT1 loved to rev, and did it well.  None of the rev hang that seemed to plague the Coyote either.  Just wish the gearing wasn’t so tall.. no need to hit 60 in second and 100 in third.

They still have the OBD plugin? Thought it switched to the phone app now.

It was always amusing checking the chevy app after a track day, but never had them message me.

In the way back times of 2010, Progressive’s version of that used an OBDII scanner plugged into the car.  You kept it for some number of months and uploaded the data with a USB connection to your computer, IIRC.  Kept track of what time of day you’d usually drive, braking events, speed, the usual.  At the time I lived

A few years ago, I was coming down Imogene pass. See a Jeep Grand Cherokee coming up but once it got closer saw it was stuck on an obstacle with a blown tire. It was also a rental. No one was stopping to actually help, a few Jeep guys would stop, make some comments or try to offer advice but not actually get out of

Any rumors on pricing for the DesertX?  If it’s anywhere around $15k it’s probably a buy for me, but that’s likely a pipe dream.  Probably gonna be $20k+.

Eh, the Camaro SS and (pretty sure) the Mustang GT both take 10 quarts and are wet sump.

But it came with a free oil change!  Think of the savings!

“You know what will make this car look better? Black plastic cladding!” - No one ever

I mean... I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to hate the main enemies, so I’d say they did a good job.

I think $750 would be pretty optimistic for this.. thing.

Any extra money you make selling a car right now will be spent on higher prices for a replacement, so it’ll just be a wash. I sold the toy car because it netted me an extra $6k or so, with no need to rush out and get a replacement.

LOL ok man. As you said, this was a discussion about track performance so why bring up street driving? If it’s ‘part of the deal with heavy modern performance cars’ why not choose the one that’s the fastest and least expensive at the same time?

Sounds likes you borrowed a car that already had cooked tires, or you’re just not a smooth driver.

Because a Mustang track pack comes with PSC2 which wear even quicker and are more expensive to replace?  Because if I own a Mustang then I have to drive it, and I don’t want to drive a Mustang?

A set of OEM SC3 tires runs about $1200.  If you’re running enough track days to go through 3 sets of tires in a year, money isn’t an issue for you.

OMG no visibility is just a meme now. I didn’t daily mine, but never had a problem with visibility, parking or any other aspect of driving it.

Sounds like he woulda run you off the road no matter what vehicle he was driving.

Point being, if you fail to buckle your seat belt, you do not increase the risk of injury/death to anyone but you.
