Side gigs still pay employees minimum wage.... So while I don’t fully understand your point, I just want to clarify that these people do indeed have a job, they drive for Uber. They would just like this job to be treated like almost every other job. Only an idiot wouldn’t get that.
If people didn’t do this full-time, the platform would die, full stop. Rides would cost far more and service would be slower (or nonexistent) pretty much everywhere.

I mean, the amount of episodes really is determined by the story. I’ve seen 8 episode TV shows that were masterpieces and 100+ episode shows that suck.

You might think that this is nitpicking at a story that offends me because I am a journalist and predisposed to finding this kind of story offensive. The problem, however, isn’t just with “The Journalist” but the way its ending brings the central worldview of all of its stories into sharper focus.
False and hateful news is a problem. But there is a lot of very excellent news out there, hiding in plain sight. When people complain about how awful the media is, there’s truth to that, but it’s also a dangerous overstatement, and it makes me want to shake those people and say, well stop flipping watching cable news…
