Pretty fucking close, honestly. I'm still at the beginning, so there's still plenty of time for it to get better or worse, but I'm really impressed so far, and I went into it with an incredibly critical eye. PS:T had the best writing of any game I've ever played, so my standards were pretty high.

This is a VERY good reason to play through all three of them again. I've played the first two like three times each, but I'm incapable of starting with the third game in a series, particularly when you can carry your character between games. After I'm done with the new Torment game, guess I'll be hitting this one. :)

Tell me of this Nioh of which you speak. My ears perked up at "Dark Souls".

Ugh. I really didn't like Dragon Age Inquisition. I put like 40 hours into that game before giving up. I wish I had that time back.

This weekend I will continue to play Torment: Tides of Numenera. I didn't even know they were working on a Planescape: Torment sequel until I saw it available on Steam to buy in early release last weekend. I grabbed it, because PS:T is fucking amazing, and was my favorite game of all time until I got into Dark Souls.

It may sound stupid now, but when I was a kid, we were CONSTANTLY being warned not to play in abandoned refrigerators. The early 80s was a weird time.

Done! Count on me for a marathon session this weekend.

I'm definitely going to give Baskets a shot one of these days.

Most definitely. Someday I'm going to take a stab at creating one myself - it looks like a lot of fun.

Not sure - I've only tried it on my iPhone. But it works pretty well. Can't beat free, right?

I've been binge watching BoJack the last couple of weeks. Definitely like it. I feel like Alison Brie is underused, but probably because it's a cartoon and she's not the star. Sigh. Bring back Community and MadMen.

I need to finish that game someday. It's just that I keep wandering away from it, and when I come back months later I feel compelled to start from the beginning again.

Do you have the Frotz app for your phone? It's good for IF. I play a bit on my commute sometimes.

I've kind of given up on I Have No Mouth, Yet I Must Scream, even though I promised DL I'd play it this week. Sorry. It just wasn't grabbing me. Did you finish it?

A radical approach that I haven't seen addressed here: since the whole country watches movies, and it's one of the things that binds us together culturally, maybe, just maybe, the Oscars should take the opportunity to mend fences and acknowledge the right to differences of opinion, rather than spend their time

Here's a radical thought: since the whole country watches movies, and it's one of the things that bind us together culturally, maybe, just maybe, the Oscars should take the opportunity to mend fences and acknowledge the right to differences of opinion, rather than take pot shots. Just sayin.

I don't! Have at it. I can't stand the Oscars because of the ostentatious wealth and it's self-congratulatory wank-festedness - really can't - but I employ my option of "not watching", so we're all good.

That is not the entire purpose of arts and entertainment. The purpose of art is the act of creation. To create beauty, and above all to inspire a reaction, of any kind. It's purpose isn't to advance political agendas, and certainly not to advance whatever political agenda you happen to agree with.

No kidding? Do you have a link? I'd be interested in seeing what the expert consensus is on Twitter's future. Disappears, or is purchased by someone and goes on as before?

It IS trickle down economics to argue a binary: the choice is between the insanely wealthy going out and spending their money and providing jobs (the "good" thing) and the insanely wealthy NOT doing that (the bad thing). There are other approaches.
