ProPublica has been knocking it out of the park lately. This story, the car tows in Connecticut, the mole that infiltrated a few militias. Really excellent reporting that needs to be more common in America, especially over the next four years.
Musk, Trump, Thiel, et al. are megalomaniacal psychopaths. James Bond would be sent to kill every one of them.
You’d think, of all people, they’d have a battery backup.
The missing lens is weird, are they hard to find?
I’ve never noticed the double logo. That does make it look a little cheap.
Yeah, I’m sure the paint is beautiful in its way and was applied by someone whose father and his father before him had handed down their craft, but the color just doesn’t suit the dignity of the car’s lines (or its sheer size—it’d feel less like driving a sports car than the Tomato Growers Association float in the…
I guess my controversial opinion would be putting the 458 in the “ugly” category, then. Hood looks like it doesn’t fit. Headlights are waaaaay over designed. Windshield looks like its bending under its own weight. Mirror stalks are hilariously long and look like snail eyestalks. Double logos up front makes the bumper…
Agreed, 55 mph is dumb.
It’s that lens that bothers me as well. That gives me “screw this I surrender” vibes that make me wonder what else is hiding in those big red flanks.
West Texas. Just mile after mile of mile after mile.
The Porsche 944 is better looking than the 928.
Fields and fields.... corn... corn... soybeans... corn... soybeans.... exit... corn....
Ill throw out another opinion: this car makes sense for a hobbyist who is doing ok financially. Rather than buy a Corvette like everybody else, buy something that stands out and is a conversation starter. It will need parts from time to time, and they will be expensive and hard to find. It might take some creative…
I have one of these, albeit it dark green. It is hilarious, a stately home that thinks it is a racehorse. I have it serviced once a year at a fixed cost of £ 480. For the naysayers, try before you buy, yes it is a stupid indulgence the tyres are silly ‘spensive and it makes sense for stupid reasons. The service…
The 25 year rule doesn’t exist for safety or emissions, it’s because importing “grey market” cars from Europe was so lucrative a business in the 70s and 80s that the dealership lobby paid off Washington to make it illegal.
Import age rules for private citizens are dumb. Let people bring in whatever deathtrap they want so long it won’t kill anyone else and doesn’t roll coal. An S4 wagon isn’t going to hurt anyone.
It starts at the top of the dealership, and for a looooong time the people sitting at those tops didn’t give the first shit about customer service. If you have an owner and GM who take a little pride in their work it makes a big difference.
