Leaving the room is letting them get away with it and showing them they can continue their behavior without consequence. That is not parenting, that is indifference.

if the choice is having them obey out of fear or never obey at all, I'll take the fear.

I hear where you're coming from. I have kids, ages 1, 3, and 5, and the older ones get spanked when nothing else works to get them to listen and behave. I've tried taking away every possession they own, it has no effect. I offer to reward them, no effect. No amount of words has any effect. Sending them to "time out"

you have to be ignorant to think that police only brutalize black people

The problem here is police brutality, not racism. "GAMING AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY." From the website: "Want To Help Support Victims Of Police Brutality? Here's How!" The only time race is mentioned at all is the #blacklivesmatter put at the top for no discernible reason whatsoever.

It depends, was the food drive only for poor black people or for all poor people?

implying only black houses catch on fire?

No, because there are two different messages. 1. we are against police brutality and 2. black lives matter. put them together and what do you get?

Yeah it seems to imply that they are only against police brutality if it's against blacks...
