Also, assuming this happened on campus, college parking enforcement is universally like the Gestapo and is a massive source of revenue, often with bullshit practices like issuing more passes than actual available spaces. I know when I went to Virginia Tech, they were hauling in $2.1 million per year in ticket revenue.

I’m with you. I recently bought a OnePlus 3 and I’m loving it. I won’t consider a phone in the Pixel line until they offer a reasonably priced one.
Smartphones are a great tool but they don’t innovate enough year to year. At least not enough for me to spend upwards of $600 on them. I only did that once.
