Okay, but then why Shepard? Why would anyone outside of the fandom know or give a shit about Shepard?

Well, hey Kinja wins some, Kinja loses some. All these comments, lost in time, etc etc.
From the author of “Are they using the most marketable music in the show too much in the commercials for the show” comes (jaunty slap-bass cue)“What is the deal with Dutch Angles?” Stay tuned next week for an expose on the Star Trek films entitled “You guys know what a lens flare is?,” as part of an ongoing series…
And if they cast Shepard as male?
Talking about what a show “brings to the table” and allowing characters “to be more human” over its predecessors is hardly pejorative.
it makes perfect sense to introduce them through something completely fresh.
It’s likely to be at least 5 hours of film which is... significant. A small contingent will be fine with 5+ hours of seated time, but my guess is a much larger chunk will be down for both movies with an intermission in the middle to get dinner, etc, which is likely to be executed well by a smaller number of theaters.
adapting Shepard is a guaranteed way to disappoint the Mass Effect fan base in one way or another.

Yup! There’s also a Classic Bond channel, a Price is Right Channel, and the whole thing is laid out like old Cable TV used to be. I dig it quite a bit. Probably the best free streamer by a considerable margin.
Here’s a little video with more info.
You’re definitely wrong about this.
but it’s also super easy to pirate now, like 1 click and the show either plays or comes down to your computer.
I mean, it’s been about 30 years now of watching media shit all over its own peen trying to figure out how the internet works so the context is literally all around you (as is the data) but setting aside that “industry shill” doesn’t even make sense as a putdown in this instance (I’m effectively arguing that piracy…
As a trekkie who frequents fan forums the amount of people getting tutorials on how to pirate this show when they announced it was leaving Netflix just a few days before the premiere was crazy.
I’d say certainly are fans her who used to pirate Trek but now didn’t have to
Across Europe in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK, episodes will be released at 9:00 p.m. local time through the free streaming platform Pluto TV—which is owned by ViacomCBS—“each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,” with simulcast releases airing on the dedicated Star Trek channel for Pluto…
