"Aww, baby that's my rim, that's my RIIIIII-IIIIIIIIM!" Whooooo…good stuff.

But..but…Viola tearing opposing attorneys and witnesses to shreds is one of my favorite parts of the show!

I was quite enjoying the episode until Tandy pulled the gun. I fear he may have crossed the line, becoming too unsympathetic for me to laugh at his tribulations. We'll see…

B+?? Y'all trippin! The "Damn, damn, damn,James!" is an A minus right there.

I found Josh Peck to be the MVP. Stamos IS genius with a cute kid, but otherwise, not so much.

Astonished by how self-assured Noah was for his FIRST DAILY SHOW EVER. And gotta admit he has a smile I will not mind seeing each night before I drift off to sleep.

The Lady from Shanghai is on the list, no? Almost in the middle.

I had that puzzle, too. Mine is in a landfill now, I'm sure.

Couldn't have said this any more succinctly!

Meatballs! Oh, I rewound that three times and still couldn't make out what she was saying. Thank you.

Totally agree, TFA is my favorite as well.

Great essay. One of the best things I've read on AV in a while. Kinda makes me want to attend the next marathon.

I saw this in a theater back in '94 and was thoroughly engrossed. Two decades later I remember very few details about what actually happened in the doc, but I still recall how the friend I dragged to see it with me, who had been so sure he was going to hate it, thanked me profusely afterward.

Diane doing Rudy's Cosby Show bit was my belly laugh for the week! Oh my goodness…

"This thread is becoming actively offensive, considering the word “faggot” has been uttered more often in season one of Empire than on the overwhelming majority of hip hop records."
Surely you jest? Or are you just talking about hip hop records released in the first three months of 2015?

I'm surprised at the A grade. For me, the first ten minutes or so of this episode was Empire at its worst—bad acting, bad dialogue, character behavior that comes out of nowhere… But I do feel that the episode rebounded with the Camilla/Lucious showdown and the suspense of Reg holding a gun to Cookie's head.

I agree that McKinnon is the big potato in the stew and that the opening Clinton sketch had some very good lines, but her impression doesn't work for me (yet). The crazy eyes, which she uses a lot, don't evoke Hillary to me. Not the way Poehler's painfully broad, forced smile and laughter did.

The review makes insightful points about Emily's flimsy characterization and how she isn't adding much to the show. But I still thought this was at least a B-minus episode. The laughs were there.

Laurence Fishbourne: This episode's MVP. That is all.

I didn't watch this episode until Sunday night at 9pm. That's how little interest I had in Dakota Johnson. But she won me over. Agree with the reviewer that she nailed some marginal material. I loved her line readings in the two broken arms sketch!
