I imagine Flea Bottom would be kind of a gritty, ground-level look at the universe — the main characters are all commoners, and the big villains would be, like, small-scale organized crime figures and not evil royals or White Walkers.

Better Call Saul is the only prequel in which I’ve ever found myself fully invested, because a). I’m genuinely thrilled by the character of Kim Wexler & am dying to see what happens to her and b). there isn’t a guarantee that Jimmy will survive, because the black & white flash-forwards HAVE to be going somewhere.

I think it really kills the ‘buildup to the mothership’ when the mothership tanked so badly in the end.

As someone who used to care a lot about the lore, these aren't bad ideas for spin offs.  But I just have no interest anymore after that last season, I'm surprised HBO is this confident frankly.

Jesus, STOP WITH THE PREQUELS. This is a rich, diverse, expansive universe, show us some more of it!!! (and yes, this is my semi-regular spot where I once again pitch Arya Stark Sailin’ & Fightin’ ‘round the World. And yes I know that’s what the Sea Snake show could be, but I don’t want it mixed in with a bunch of “so

I hope this doesn’t change their journalistic direction.

One of the reasons I’m most thankful to be the age I am is that there’s zero chance of something dumb I wrote online as a teenager coming back to haunt me.

Just tell them you’re filming some hidden camera reality show, then quietly sneak away

Sure, next to a husband with a melted brain and two terrible rich children, a old racist white lady with a british accent could pass as pleasant with enough editing.

So are the Watkins actually ‘Q’?

L Ron Hubbard made up Scientology just to prove he could. It didn't go away after that became known.

Luanne hit it big with the Manger Babies again and they moved to a suburb of Houston, where they’re living a quiet life. That’s all I’ll hear on the matter.

Fifteen years ago, I rode an elevator with Rupert Murdoch. There was no one else on it. I briefly thought, “hey, I could murder Rupert Murdoch now and help the world.” There’s no way in hell I would have gotten away with it.

Obligatory comment for anything Tucker Carlson-related: his own mother left him only $1 in her will. She knew...she knew.

I really, really hate Tucker Carlson and was glad to see Oliver address this, because, much like white supremicists watch Tucker to improve their racist messaging, Oliver is way better at explaining the particular insidiousness of Tucker Carlson than I am, and frankly I need new and better ways to explain it to my

Deplatforming is the answer to defusing the power of the far right. The problem is, it only works when everyone is on board. When mass media continues to give white supremacist demagogues high visibility, any attempt to ignore them is fruitless. What we should be working toward is making people like Carlson too toxic

I can’t fucking wait to watch our remaining movies on Prime because we make a point of not using the shipping aspects or going to Whole Foods (fuck Jeff Bezos forever).

It’s a reasonable assumption that whoever owns the account *wants* the second party to have access. And for some (maybe a lot) of us, this kind of clamping down is an excuse to drop Netflix. I won't deny I'm excited for a few upcoming projects, notably The Sandman, but my patience for them has grown thin.

Well it’s not like I'm going to Deadspin to read sports-adjacent stuff, so might as well read about it here.
