Hahaha

Well, if that’s true, who’s the smart one in this exchange?

I prop him up? I give him attention? How? Did I write this piece? Did I hire him to play crappy minor league ball? Did I buy his jersey? Attend a prayer session? Donate to one of his charities? Did I attend Mets Spring Training to see him?

Yes. Thank you for quoting my comment. I wasn’t suggesting he’s without criticism.

That’s a fair comment. It also would have been a great replacement for the article we’re commenting on.

Don’t be mad that you didn’t read the comment or interpret it properly. Thanks for wasting my time, otherwise. Take care.

Are the Mets “the right”? Who is propping him up for this level of scorn from the author?

I’m not new. I’ve been reading since its inception. Are you unfamiliar with dissenting opinions in this space? Unpopular ones, maybe? I’ve talked to hundreds of you, then. It’s not new.

It’s not a red herring, no.

I also did not say he “can’t be criticized”. Read, for fuck’s sake. Read.

Tim Tebow had one of the most prolific college careers in NCAA history. To suggest he’s solely famous for his religious beliefs is ridiculous on its face. Sure, he may still only be famous because of it. But no.

Who are “you people”? What synapse fired off (or didn’t) in your brain to suggest I’m a fan, let alone an apologist, for Sarah Palin? Save the logical fallacies for someone else. It’s a waste of my time.

I quite clearly pointed to the level at which the author, and this site, loathe the guy. And pen vitriolic pieces on him often enough to warrant the question. Yes, money grabs can be criticized. Are they criticized on this level? Not often, no.

I understand that, and the evangelical segment of his fan base is certainly ripe for the mockery. But I’m just not sure he’s the type of guy, a bad guy, that warrants this type of condemnation.

Do you honestly believe that if Tebow weren’t so vocal about his belief system, or his politics for that matter, that this post would have been written anyway?

What makes him an asshole, other than the fact that he’s religious?

I still can’t understand the vitriol this man inspires in the left-wing circles of sports analysis. We can all agree that this is a spectacle, a money grab, or a waste of time. We can agree that Tebow is attempting to maintain relevancy, and by extension, a steady income. It’s a joke. But the vitriol is...slightly

I hate this signing. We can all agree that the Giants needed a big target to pull coverage from Beckham, but stone hands mcgee over here isn’t the solution. Consider also that he eats into their small amount of open cap space, he’s a malcontent who will be around the volatile Beckham every day, he will say crap on TV

I don’t understand the (positive) hysteria over Westbrook’s performances this season. He did shoot a touch above 50% on 39 attempts, which is great, so it’s not solely a volume performance. But really, the guy has the ball all the time. They still lost. While the loss is clearly not his fault, going nuts over his

I was referring to this segment of the post, FWIW.
