Wino forever!
Wino forever!
Because you can’t be Isabella Rossellini forever, unless you’re actually Isabella Rossellini
It makes me sad that this site is mostly just linking to other interviews these days. AV Club had some of the best and most insightful interviews in its heyday.
“Bill?”
K.I.T.H.: Knight Industries Two ‘n a Half. It’s a talking Trans Am but it has a lisp.
New series is fantastic, dignity caps in place at all times. I’d love another one or two series, I especially enjoy it when they get loose and surreal in the final episodes and stuff from the slush pile makes it in the running order. More sugar, please! Give those other scripts a look, write some new stuff, no more…
This show is the quintessence of early music videography, MTV, and the ‘80s: No one knowing what the hell they were doing, but goddamn if they weren’t doing it with *style*.
I still say that Remote Control is due for a comeback. It’s a clip-based gameshow and we now live in an age of nothing but clips! With streaming services, the old youtube, twitter and the internet in general think of all the wacky categories they could do now. Memes alone would warrant their own segment in the…
I was a contestant, May 1989, aired in July (it’s on YouTube, search Remote Control 7/5/89) and without a doubt one of the coolest experiences in my life.
Thank you for what may be the best researched piece I’ve ever read on AV Club.
You're not alone. I was wondering why they didn't talk about Men in Black or Dogma. They've got that same curly lip thing.
Who has slapped you the hardest, and what was your follow up question to that?
Lisa Miller! I mean, Maura Tierney! I'm glad to hear she's doing okay. I remember when she dropped out of Parenthood for cancer treatment, and then I didn't hear anything about her for a long time. I love that show and I like Lauren Graham a lot, but I've always been a little sorry I didn't get to see her as Sarah…
You really don't understand the psychology of addiction. It's like saying "Who forced depressed people to be depressed? Just smile and think happy thoughts! I'm sure it'll work out!" Yeah, perhaps you should understand that addiction is typically a comorbid disease, meaning people get addicted to cure/numb some other…
In this country, a lot of people aren't forced to be soldiers. Why enlist when you know there is a very real chance that you will die at war?
Don't you know there is a limited amount of sad that one person can have, and if they are sad about PSH it means they just aren't giving enough of their sad to St. Judes?
Fuck anyone who thinks they get to shame people for finding one thing sad without namechecking literally every other sad thing, world without end, amen.
My sister wasn't able to conquer her addictions either. But I wouldn't call her "stupid." I'd call her beautiful, artistic, kind, funny, deeply troubled, incredibly sad, and gone tragically early.
For those of us who are on Facebook and Twitter today who have also lost loved ones to heroin overdose regardless of however many people have died that way before them, seeing shit like this is not only totally retraumatizing, but trivializing, insulting, and deeply hurtful.
My brother wasn't stupid. His death wasn't…
Through the years, all the Kids have cycled through being my favorite. When I was young and impressionable, it was Dave. When I was in college and freaking out, it was Scott. When I was slightly older and an aspiring hipster douchebag, it was Bruce. When I saw Slings and Arrows, it was Mark. But now that my hair and…
