I just watched this show for the first time and I don’t think I’ve ever sobbed so much during a series finale. The ending of Six Feet Under always brings me to tears, but that’s just the final montage of all the characters’ deaths. I started crying from the moment this finale began simply because I was so sad that I’d

Yeah, I didn’t see a “slower, more dignified version of the rush of people that flock to a festival side stage.” I saw a scene from a cow zombie movie.

It’s the only meme without dragons.

I just laughed harder at this 5-second clip than I’ve laughed at most sit-coms. No one does serious funnier than him.

Agree that it’s yummy, but slicing it into medallions and placing them on Triscuits kind of defeats the purpose of grabbing something out of the fridge and cramming it down my lazy yaw.

He’s also fantastic in the first scene as well as all the middle ones. I love him so much.

I have a feeling everything in Werner Herzog’s world operates like this.

To be fair, it took me a couple weeks to recover from the final episode too.

Doc Hopper is a myth.

I somehow wound up watching this the day after Trump got elected and bawled for about an hour.

I only just realized he was the show runner for Rectify, which is a sweet grace note to his performance here.

Also The West Wing in a nutshell.

Cool, I feel way more excited now about schlepping out to the NYC screening I bought a ticket for weeks ago during a spate of amnesia where I totally forgot I’m incredibly lazy and would way rather sit at home and watch it in my living room. Calamity Jane’s gonna be there so that’ll be cool.

Once you do realize they’re purposely avoiding names, it’s fun to keep an eye out for all the tells when you rewatch — like at the end of episode 1 when her sister yells “Hey!” to her from the waiting taxicab rather than just getting her attention by calling her name.

May I recommend the Midsomer Murders bot on twitter:

FYI, Shout Factory went on a mission to secure music rights for that show a few years ago, and in 2014 they released a DVD set that includes that song. So if you have a DVD player (which if you remember this episode I’d say is 50/50 possible) then you can get your hands on it here.  https://www.shoutfactory.com/product

Rolling Stone had a fantastic piece about the Fleabag fourth wall. I love this point about it being not only broken but rebroken:

I saw it as a little bit of both. The Priest is a messy human being who momentarily gets off on ordering Fleabag into a submissive position, but he’s also a sympathetic fellow traveler who gets down into that position with her. They’re both fucked up people who are trying to become better, so sometimes they behave
