Yep that's fucked up either way. How this is legal is beyond me.

I thought we were having a legt debate/conversation but being "concerned" that my being annoyed at ignorant misgendering of trans folk like myself is just not something I should do because you proclaim it to be bad for my health, leads me to believe bad faith on your part.
For all this talk of censorship last time I checked you're still here and so are all the comments saying how dare you.
It means they're probably misgendered. Which then people like rev use to justify misgendering trans folk on the basis of "It's just biology man" which reinofrces the biology is destiny thinking that leads to an ME misgendering trans folk which further emboldens people like rev and so on. So you see it's a wonderful…
Tell you what if I hear he apologizes for misgendering I'll say cool apology accepted . Until then I'm not going to give anyone who misgenders the benefit of the doubt.
Do you go after every single Jez writer or Gawker writer for using less than BBC approved speech?
Cause they do it all the time.
There's nothing inherently wrong with colloquial turns of phrases. I can't even accurately portrays a state of sadness/confusion/anger. Like I don't really care that it's some internet meme,…
How many times have I said that had he said something like: "We have no indication that she was murdered for being transgender at this time. We are exploring all avenues."
There'd be no controversy.
I refuse to believe that it is that difficult to not refer to someone who identifies as a woman as she. I'm sick of this argument that it's just really hard for people to understand. It's not, trans people have been around for a while now.
The tired phobic = fear and only fear thing is old. Much like homophobia the word encompasses a wider ranger than just fear. It's use the same way racist and sexist is used. You can argue the science if you want but that's how the word is used.
Calling trans people gay is still a tranphobic statement (a straight trans woman is not gay). He also misgenders which is also a transphobic act. I don't really care if it is just because he's ignorant. Ignorance is not a get of getting criticized free card.
Misgendering someone is a transphobic act, be it from ignorance or malice.
No, he was called out for kind of implying it could never be a hate crime. It's a mix of misgendering juxtaposed with a weird explanation of what a hate crime really that seems to imply that trans folk can't be victims of hate crimes at all.
All he had to say was we have no indication at this time that she was…
Early 90s too with Seles, Graff, Davenport etc...
I'm so glad someone else said this. The all power game is boring to watch sometimes (though an occasional bullet ace is rather exciting). I like the finesse and short placement volley game that women's tennis offers.
Yeah seriously the Coyotes are an abject failure but they think a minor league team is going to succeed.?
Which is why her husband was also found not guilty. Troll harder.
Transphobia under the guise of biological imperialism is still transphobia.
If he thought trans fell under hate crime he'd have had no reason to clarify what a hate crime is.
The level of semantic arguments or nit picking (see the debate on "I can't even" ) so utterly bizarre it never reaches this level with other author's and it's always the worst on Kat's articles about trans folk.
If he thought being trans could ever qualify as a hate crime there was no need for the list. That he felt the need to first refer to her as a "male living as a female" and then describe what a hate crime is, directly implies that he doesn't include trans on that list.
