Sticks and stones is bull

And yet RuPaul refuses to admit the duality.

So we should just pretend words don't hurt? Yeah brilliant, this is the same guy who took to twitter (and rightfully so) to get mad at Bynes for using faggot.

Baloney: "For the most part they're getting offended over a word that doesn't really refer to them"

Also worth noting is that on his twitter throughout this recent tirade he refers to all of us as the gay movement, not the trans movement not even the LGBT movement no no it's the gay movement. Says a lot.

What?! This little mini thread that brought you in here was based on that exact statement:

Also I love that this call for unity from the pro Paul camp basically equates to trans women need to shut up and agree with us.

I'm saying it's thrown at us as a slur, part of that might be because transsexual and transvestites are often conflated by idiots. Doesn't change that the word is still used by idiots to refer to trans folk like myself and it is used abusively.

No we're calling it a slur because it's used against us as one by mainstream folks, by our abusers. Jesus not everything is about hurting the gender queer drag community, or even about those communities which is funny because I thought it was the Trans community (now who is being divisive)? Please note that RuPaul has

I started exploring being trans through a University Queer group. Wherein I was almost immediately asked by a cis gay man who was the second in command (who also before I even got to know him kept offering for me to crash at his place, I was still pretty boyish looking then and I always felt like I wouldn't fully be

He's a the biggest media presence that the overarching trans umbrella has and he's basically given everyone a carte blanche to use tranny however they wish to whomever they wish because he's said it's not offensive period and basically excommunicated those who do find offensive from being even part of the "community"

Wow! The hypocrisy from Ru is so thick you'd need a chainsaw to get through it.

Trans folk are often conflated with transvestites , like significantly so.

Ahh the classic my slur is real yours is imaginary routine.

Can I just point out that almost (if not) every little comment in that picture has been said in this comment section

I think the problem is this conversation is basically a non starter because Ru Paul puts fingers in his ears and says la la la never a slur.

Weird it's like we can do a lot of stuff at once. Like it or not he has a mainstream audience (he's by far the most visible representative of the T community), and his actions encourages people to deny the word can ever be a slur. I find it interesting that he's never really tried to set the record for the mainstream,

We've come to an agreement. I give not a shit in the world if he wants to use it privately.

I was just making sure that you weren't conflating the argument (and not specifically the person) to being a Beckian tea-partier.

I think what's really interesting is that Ru Paul never once has gon on record to defends trans folk who have had the word used against them as a slur, he's never said hey mainstream
