Just for the record "modernized" was about the TV series not the musical movie that this article is about

The musical is such a mostly eastern Canada (and Japanese) phenomenon that it deserves wider exposure. Keep in mind this is gonna be a very indie Canadian production so I'm not too worried about the big Hollywood movie musical effect

It's not being redone. They are adapting the nearly 50 year old amazing musical

The musical has been around since 1965 and it's freaking awesome!
