When I've been in America and Spain with my newly acquired Spanish-J-involving surname, it was so lovely to not have people think it was weird. The glazed-eyed people here at home are tiresome.

I suddenly thought of William as a potential future boy's name last night, for the first time in my life — and then I realised that eeeeeveryone would think the potential future boy was named after the prince, which he wouldn't be, so I discounted it again.

My surname is awesome too! But, alas, I now live in a non-Spanish-speaking country and people here pretty much refuse to accept that my name is pronounced the way it is. (When I'm in Spain or America, everyone can handle it just fine.)
