My issue is that so much of my enjoyment of FF7 comes from the fact that it’s a PSX game from the late 90s. It’s weird and trippy in a way that JRPGs were allowed to be. I don’t know if you can maintain that nowadays in 2020.

But yeah.  Ideally, Warren should be who we’re talking about. But this is America, and we’ve been trained to believe that women with a backbone are bitchy while men who scream and posture are “leaders.”

but that’s not a good analogy because LOTR was always a trilogy of books. In fact FF7 remake has more in common with the Hobbit movies: taking a self-contained story and stretching it into multiple parts.

Except not really. When you compare something like vagrant story or Parasite Eve, it’s not really much of a contest. Current Square is either focused on providing nostalgic RPGS or another in a long line of bloated Final Fantasys or Kingdom Hearts.

But...that’s so crazy fucking different. Logan benefitted from years of X-men films while Deadpool had Ryan Reynolds personally fronting for that movie for years before finally getting a shot at it. Those movies had a primed audience ready for it in a way that Birds of Prey didn’t.
