I have always rankled at the speech about The Simpsons being "thousands of hours of entertainment for free," largely because it wasn't free. Cable (the only way to get Fox for most people back then) cost money, plus there's the little matter of advertising.

Just watching the series now, and I have to say that I never thought that the watershed bill failing was integral to Frank's original plot. When Frank tells Stamper to not forget that the plan is to build Russo up, have him fail, then dust him off and get him out of the way, it sounded urgent. It was a reminder, i.e.

I'm three years late to this discussion, but… everyone in that apartment complex had their own garage. Didn't you see all the other doors? There was no parking lot in there, just individual garages. I don't think so? I've spent more time than I should publicly admit trying to find that ringtone and it doesn't sound like the Shark Tank theme at all. Does the show have some different music within the show, snippets or interstitial music maybe?
