The letterhead is weird... I don’t know why Bolton would choose a White House letterhead instead of one with his own office. To me, it (and the brevity of that letter) suggests he wrote it at the White House and didn’t have the time or choice to return to his office.

If you google other official letters written to the President, they’re almost always addressed with “Dear”. It’s apparently the convention.

Or maybe some people just like the taste... guess I’m one of those odd ones who like seitan and other imitation meat and eat them primarily for that reason. And having tried the Impossible Whopper a few times, I do like it better than the regular Whopper.

I remember doing a self-assessment report at the end of an IT project where we modified an existing database so it will work with some new processes in the pipeline. I called what we did “code review”, because that was literally what we did; we read the source codes and noted what needed to be modified and how it

A few details to add: the returner in tennis can stand far behind the baseline, the serve is often diagonal, and the ball loses a lot of speed when it bounces. I googled and found a NYT article that calculated that even a 150mph serve would only be 85mph immediately after bouncing and is only 73mph when it reaches

If we’re free to pick very particular scenarios, all three would be unlikely but not impossible.

It never made sense to me when umpires position themselves at different spots depending on whether the pitcher is left-handed or right-handed. If the job involves determining whether the pitch is over the plate, the best position to do that is directly behind the plate. Moving around just leads to inconsistencies

It’s one thing to feel bad for the team but another thing to direct that negativity toward the person. I’m a 49ers fan and when Patrick Willis retired I remember feeling sad for the team but I was never upset at the player himself.

And if anyone wants to look some sample questions, they have them at this link, after expanding the “Is there a study guide...” section: https://nbpa.com/agents/faqs

A few additional, notable details on the examination:

Not at all. Good teammates and decent human beings don’t take it as a personal slight when they see another person giving their best effort.

My high school cross country coach once singled me out for praise in the team review after a race even though I was only JV (not to mention the eventual state champion was on the team) and I had the second slowest time on the team. She pointed out that I was the only one who sprinted the last 200 yards and passed a

Worked QA for just under two years out of college. The worst thing that happened to us (besides the hours, the condescension, etc) was when someone wrecked the restroom on our floor less than a month after our team had relocated there. We were pretty sure it was the dev team —working on another project, so no idea why

Don’t know why so many replies talked about things that wasn’t in your comment...

Worked QA for a major publisher many years ago out of college. It’s all true; all of it. The different class treatment. The mistrust. The grueling hours. The exclusions from bonuses and benefits. About the only thing that seemed better for me was that we got dinner during crunch. But our crunch were two months of 100+

It looks to me like Contreras actually touched the bag before the tag (which the tv crew noted) but is out because the wide slide forced him to switch hands and he didn’t maintain contact with the base during the switch. So great job by the infielder maintaining the tag all the way through, but questionable sliding

I think it’s actually Paris to Dallas (then to Charlotte), because he missed the original Charlotte flight. So about 11 hours.

The first rule of the unwritten rules is never write about the unwritten rules.

Wait. With the fourth pick? The one the Pels traded to the Hawks?

I find the whole concept of asking another person for their favorites or recommendations to be a waste of time. It would be awkward if they suggest a dish and it’s something you already know you’ll dislike. I already have a general sense of what I like and dislike, and it’s not like a wonderfully prepared dish of
