The problem there was that synthetic crystals weren’t inferior and could supposedly “break” Jedi blades. I did enjoy the forging aspect of Sith crystals in Legends, but I’m actually a big fan of the more mystical aspects kyber crystals have in canon. Corrupting a living crystal and bending it to your will is pretty

Barriss might’ve been a borderline terrorist, but she was spot-on in her accusations of the Jedi being an army “fighting for the dark side. Fallen from the light we once held so dear.”

If you can, check out the one shot issue Marvel put out for C-3PO. It’s mainly the backstory for how he got the red arm, but its discussion of droid sentience and memory wipes almost veers into nightmare fuel territory.

Yeah, I can’t really fault them. The Jedi thought they’d neutralized its dark side influence, but I doubt they could have foreseen a future Sith Lord (Sidious) using its remaining power to mask his presence and weaken them.

This is one of the things I like the most about the post-2014 reboot SW EU—the Lucasfilm Story Group. They oversee all of the new canon and while some might accuse them of playing it “safe”, it helps to avoid situations like Legends got itself into.

I grew up with the expanded universe, but looking back, I’m glad they decided to seal it off in its own non-canon continuity (Legends). Preserved in amber as Pablo Hidalgo recently described it.

I really really hated the direction the post-ROTJ Legends stories went. Jacen’s fall was just so unbelievably ham-handed and I couldn’t wait until his sister finally offed him.

Officially considered part of the Legends continuity, but story group canon pulls from this era from time to time.

Read Dark Disciple. Don’t want to spoil it, but chances are she won’t be showing up in Rebels.

Dark Disciple is based on eight unreleased clone wars episodes. It is fully canon and she is one of the main characters.
