..There aren't enough martial artist shows/movies focusing on non-Asian martial arts, like savate.

:( They meet in Defenders, tho, right??

Ironically, I'm finding Evil Trump Who Is Actually In Good Shape And Boxes to be fascinating and charismatic. In the good way, not bad way.

But they were pretending to be Americans! Automatically makes it all better.

Marvel's K'un L'un has as much to do with Chinese myth as Marvel's Asgard has to do with Scandinavian myth. In Marvel, both regions are alien dimensions filled with aliens.

Marvel's choices regarding the Ancient One were not lazy or thoughless. They spent a long time deciding how to offend people.

Worth noting that the television section and movie section are completely divorced from each other. There is no one person in charge of Marvel that made both screw-ups.

So far, I'm starting to warm to Ward as a villain. I know he's just the Secondary Villain to Harold, but his characterization is like the American Psycho guy, before he realized that he enjoyed killing people.

Well, Ward did have a gun and threatened Danny with it. The problem is that guns make you overconfident and do stupid things.

Kyle Rayner, specifically. Most Lanterns are super awesome fearless and honest, not average by any means.

So far I am confused because the villains are very MUCH like Trump but they were the best part of the first episode. >_>

Dude, he's been hinting forever that he's not white but doesn't want to have to prove himself. Stop assuming.

Americans of Eastern Asian descent have been complaining about representation in US art, not cultural appropriation.

I think "appropriation" is taken too far, too often. Most traits of a culture are not sacred. They are not guarded to make sure strangers don't see them or use them. Most members of a culture just want it treated with respect and done correctly.

Shang Chi's dad is pretty interesting though.

Just wait til you get magic powers!

I am not comfortable with the implications of rocky road as a sexual metaphor. :(

Its also a nation/cultural thing. Colleen is Japanese and follows that tradition. Kung fu is mainland Chinese.

Daredevil isn't a martial arts show. Its a law drama/vigilante broods show. You expect goofy courtroom antics and wandering around alleys about JUSTICE. Iron Fist is a martial arts show and thats what people expect.

Hm. I'd actually expect Matt to be better at moving than Danny, because Matt's senses mean he's always basically following choreography in his head and the unnatural sense of balance. Danny has more power because his chi is magically supercharged, so he can do more damage and take more damage and do cool magic
