You're right, but, it's much easier to tell "mom" that anything and everything potentially bad on a computer is "a virus".

You should investigate your local law enforcement rules. It's different in every area, but I can tell you for a fact that Local Police in my location are actually available for hire as business security patrols while not on duty.

I completely agree. Although neither you nor I can FAULT his personal values, he still needs to follow the rules of his employer or suffer the consequences. Do I personally think that maybe he should have just been warned and not fired? Yes, I do.

hahaha! nice one.

And with a "Monster Machines" tag. Lol irony.

You mean the viewing end? Probably because it has a video display and you don't need to "stick your eye in the hole". Notice the shooter sitting WAAAY back from the machine.

"...but [Microsoft] still also keep[s] the old win95 style, you know, 'just in case [they] didn't get it right and people hate the new shit'."

haha, my thoughts exactly.

Sorry, but no way that would wake me up in the morning.

One of my favorite authors. It's cool though, I read lifehacker too, plus there is a lot of cross-posting. This won't be the last we hear from you -.-

Sorry, I thought you were talking about converting to "old style menus" in Windows 8. Yeah, you're right, in 2007/10 office right click > minimize does the trick...but I still don't like the huge graphic buttons, even if it does "only appear when I need it".

The problem with "hiding the ribbon" is when you do so, you lose the functionality of all of those buttons. Sure, "some" remain in the context menus, but unfortunately not all.

My thoughts exactly atrus123. I understand the need to cater to tech-handicapped individuals, but I think there's a better way to do it than with huge graphic buttons all over the place stabbing you in the eye with visual horrors.

There's a town by the space center called Tittyville? Sounds like a great place to live imo...

The Ribbon Sucks! Microsoft keeps raping my screen space more and more with every release....Why can't we just continue using menus? They seem to work just fine, and don't take up a gigantor amount of eye space. Even the WORD ribbon is a fat fatty. It's called a "tab" people. 1 syllable, no bulk.

You can use a capacitive stylus on an iPad just fine.

NES has 8 buttons, so what's the big deal? eight!? Eight!? Eight!?! EIGHT!?!!

haha, Minecraft Toaster Engine just sitting there turning out charred bread all day long would be pretty nice!

Sort of like the last typewriter repairman, aye iCurmudgeon?

Am I the only person here who doesn't have a single song or video on their iPhone or iPad? I sometimes wonder if the rest of the world has heard of streaming services...
