I’m absolutely dying for someone to retort to Tucker back - why do you think Norwegians don’t want to immigrate here?

You may find this interesting - Jonathan Katz said much the same thing in rebuttal to Rich Lowry. Thc complete lack of curiosity on the racist alt-right as to HOW which countries got which way both was and is deliberate and no accident.
trying to act like black and brown weren’t the biggest drivers of his statement is giving trump way toooooooo much credit.
he could have made a more eloquent comment. we need to make america the type of country, that attracts the brightest minds, and most advanced people...with our commitment to education, science and…
He’s choosing to focus on Trump’s description of the countries as shitholes. Those countries have problems, you wouldn’t want to live there, why can’t we admit that? And he is choosing to ignore the fact that was Trump said was “why would we want the PEOPLE from those shithole countries.”
Which means we can still turn 18% of them. Remind me again how close 2016 was...?
Nah, I think the Thanksgiving scene is more, “eat all your vegetables; don’t you know there are starving people in (insert name of impoverished country here).”
because these morons still believe the America is superior to every other country in the world
You’re not ALL that far off. Turns out, as I learned at a six-year-old’s birthday party several years ago, that big earthquake wasn’t because of tectonic plate activity or any of that, it’s God punishing those people for practicing voodoo- if they’d just do the right thing and convert to Jesus, they’d probably be…
There’s usually someone in every family for whom illegal immigration is their pet issue, and the discussion almost always seems to, at some point, arrive at “Why don’t we restrict immigration to people who are going to come here and work hard and obey the laws [i.e., non-threatening Europeans] instead of letting in…
Why does America need immigrants specifically because they will “bust their ass”? We complain about the inequities and shortcomings of the American political economy, but you are lauding people coming here to basically eat shit and ask for seconds instead of “whining” about the very problems places like Splinter…
If you look at Haiti, they had to get a loan from the US and others to pay France for winning it’s freedom. The country had it’s vaults raided at the behest of American banks worried about being repaid. For decades American and European countries refused to trade with them. Then America undercut their rice and sugar…
Tucker thinks Americans vacation in other white countries as opposed to the reality, which is that they go to Mexico. I’m sure a lot vacation in Canada too but until Trump tears up NAFTA no sane Canadian is going to move to the US unless they get gob smacks of money thrown at them for work.
His point is that we cannot even acknowledge the fact that certain countries are terrible places to live. If we do so, then we are shouted down as hateful, or racist or whatever. But the fact remains that some countries are 100% undesirable places to live. That’s his point.
He’s trying to twist Trump’s words into something that sounds intellectual and innocent, but makes zero sense when you think about it (as you have).
“One year after the election, a stunning 82% of Trump voters said that hell yes they’d vote for him again.”
I’m trying to understand Tucker’s point here. Is it baisically “why do people from countries where conditions are worse than the US want to come here, but people in countries where conditions are better don’t?” I imagine if I watch the whole spot, it might make sense but I won’t subject myself to that.
I love how the discussion is so shallow on the right when they say, “Yeah, those are shitholes.” There’s no follow up on how those countries got so poor (hint: mostly because of the U.S. and European countries).
