The Disney short "John Henry" seems like an attempted appology for Song of the South.

Given that Georgiou was on board the Discovery when it traveled to [spoiler] in the season 3 finale, I don't really see how she'll be back for Section 31.
I’m very excited for a season 3 set an additional 900 years in the future, a time period we haven’t seen yet, except briefly in the “Calypso” Short Trek episode.
Was the pilot already shot?
I was lucky enough to attend the premiere in LA in October. It was the first time I’d attended a Star Trek event. I’m excited the embargo on spoilers will finally be lifted.
Its curious genre fans accept the magic violin in Umbrella Academy but not the magic dancing in The OA. What's the difference?
I finished season 2 tonight. I was NOT expecting the 4th wall to break. Season 2 went cyberpunk. Will season 3 go comic book movie?
I don’t even care, I loved the finale. I didn’t know I liked modern dance until I watched The OA. Art transcends reality. I guess I’m a new-ager after all.
Remember when io9 hated this show? I almost second-guessed myself for loving it back in 2016, but I just rewatched season 1 and started season 2, and was like, yup, this show is still awesome.
I miss io9's weekly reviews. I read the books, and I’ve been watching this show and need folks to talk to about it!
I liked the fleshed-out backstories of each character. They were pretty careful to make Shauna and Carter likeable, even if Shauna’s backstory is pretty cliche. Carter isn’t very genre savvy. Guess he…
As much as I want there to be future consequences from the collective Vaharai, I am doubtful there will be. Discovery is such an uneven show that I don’t think our heroes will be allowed to make and learn from such a mistake in violating TPD. I love DSC despite its flaws, but after this episode I’m starting to share…
I really wanted to like this episode. I’ve been looking forward to visiting Saru’s home planet. However, the lack of consequences for violating the Prime Directive and inducing a whole species’ (even the infants?) metamorphosis bothered me. What if Vaharai is like menopause and now nobody can reproduce?
I want to get this book to see if Grillo-Marxuach dishes on the aborted Xena reboot and what irreconcilable difference he had with the original creator, Rob Tapert.
Trip’s clone, Sim, had Trip’s memories. The Star Trek verse seems to be suggesting at least human memories (if not the soul) are linked to DNA. Phlox hypothesized as much. I agree it is a strange door to open, but ENT opened it already.
I came to the comments to make sure this pedantic correction had been made. Well done.
I’m thrilled Charlie Jane is back for a guest post, but disappointed she isn’t back for good.
Now, back on topic, since Star Trek is on my mind today: do you all think Michael Burnham is a Mary Sue or woman who screws up? I love her but worry when she’s always right.
This is taking me back to my Geocities Spice Girls fansite, “Outer Spice Girls,” with lots of blink and marquee. I hand-coded that in 7th grade!
I briefly wondered if Doug Jones might be leaving the show since Shape of the Water won best picture, maybe he’s getting all kinds of movie deals. Then I thought, “nah, what is a better gig for a prosthesis actor than Star Trek?”
McAvoy’s Dune was my introduction to the series, so I’m rather fond of that adaptation.
The first thing I saw him in was Dune, a few years before The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
