I used to get incredible boost to my rail accuracy in games against my fellows... up from 33% to around 40-45%. So yes... but that was a loong time ago. Unfortunately not many games run on Linux (well) so there are other issues like tearing and stuttering that cause problems.

That's something that I find a bit annoying about Conky (on Linux)... the inability to have 'better' relative positioning. I've been holding off on Geektool on my Mac (preferring instead to use iStat Menu) since I hardly ever get to see my desktop these days...
