Clinical depression is not “feeling down”, for one. I acknowledge that the term has been watered down in recent years, but depression is a legitimate medical diagnosis that doesn’t just mean someone is sad about something. 

When I’m all depressed I usually have about enough energy to warm up a can of soup.  Then I get tired of eating after like 2 bites but force myself to eat the rest of the can because if I don’t I’ll feel even shittier about myself.
