Not sure if you've seen their annoying ass tv/radio spots, but it's this horrifically cheesy jingle that drones on and on about the good old days with homemade ice cream and "it was such a simpler time back then." That alone makes me hate them.

Village 8 in Louisville, KY tops out at $4. Runs $2-4 depending on the day. It's older with small screens, but it's clean with good concessions that don't rip you off either. If you don't mind waiting a little bit longer for the movies to show up there (I don't), it's a great deal.
