I love Tom Lerer so much. I think of this song any time anyone mentions Common Core math. (under 50 here! But giant nerd, so)

South Korea has the best commentator team.
There’s a scene I love in Reds (an only so-so movie) where Helen Mirren does a whole “seduction in a ballgown scene” then steps out in the hallway and Bruce Willis hands her a pair of combat boots that she puts on for the rest of the action stuff.
My husband has somehow never heard the plot or read the novel, so when I was giving him the rundown on that adaptation I mentioned that Charles Dance played one of the characters. His immediate reply was “And he’s the murderer, right?” Don’t hire Charles Dance if you don’t want people to figure out the twist is the…
Consider this a reply to most of this thread but there is a level of history nerd happening here that is delightful and I am here for it.
Around our house we call William’s current cut the “Ed Harris”, clipped close all over, but not Mr. Clean shaved. I think that’s a look that can be flattering on a wider range of headshapes and personal styles. My husband is debating when his hair will get to that point.
I need to see this purse!
And while Laura Bush was not a particularly front and center First Lady, she still had a focus on literacy, and LIVED IN THE DAMN WHITE HOUSE. If Melania was only comfortable doing the bare minimum, I would cut her slack, but she isn’t even doing that.
As a tall lady who loves slightly longer skirts, I looove eshakti. Second the recommendation.
Good list. I would personally add Wonder Weeks and it’s associated app. It may all be bunk, but it helped me to look at the little calendar with a rain cloud and be like “Oh, that’s why he’s been cranky and attached to my boob all day!”.
Oooh, good call. He can do that switch from jovial to evil thing so well.
I love Patti Lupone, and I cackled for 5 solid minutes when I saw this the first time:
Seconding the eshakti recommendation. I’ve been pleased with everything I’ve bought. Also, I’m 5'10" and for a couple of bucks extra they let you customized the sizes, and change sleeve-styles, hem lengths, etc. Takes a few weeks to arrive, but I’ve gotten tons of compliments on the clothes.
Eskakti. This is almost literally a Mrs. Frizzle dress: http://www.eshakti.com/shop/Dresses/Constellation-print-crepe-shirtdress-CL0046872
She’s been on Drunk History a couple of times!
My husband and I saw that show well before we got married. We’ve been married 8 years, we still turn to each other and yell “CHAWWWW-LIE!” on occaision.
My husband and I fondly refer to her as Drunk Aunt Sandy. 10 out of 10, would definitely drink with.
I believe she does a ton of charity work around childhood hunger, based around her own impoverished childhood. I about died when I first saw the Kwanzaa cake, but lady loves a cocktail and a color coordinated tablescape so...I sort of love her?
That situation is why Tom & Lorenzo coined the term “Titscrepency”.
Michelle Obama’s dress was literally metal mesh, not sequins sewn on a fabric base. It was super popular in the 60/70's but it’s very expensive so it’s rare to see a full gown.
