Also why does this category need to have ten nominees?  I get Record and Song of the Year being bulked up but is there really such a sea of worthy newcomers in this category?  It seems like they could toughen up standards for newness and still have a solid five nominees.

Looking over the reviews, they are really soft for a Marvel film. And critical acclaim is something this film really needed (Chloe Zhao should be just fine, however), especially as there’s a spoiler plot twist in the film that certain fans will probably hate. Could this be the much-speculated first MCU flop since The

Does this mean that HBO Max doesn’t have the Matrix films the month they are debuting the sequel on their service? If so (I guess the films could be on both platforms), that is such awful planning on HBO Max’s part.

Guillermo’s guilt as a mass murderer (which all the other characters share, but he is the one who most fits into a “good guy” role on the show) is definitely an uncomfortable aspect of the character. And honestly it is one that I’m not sure the show should fully tackle because it isn’t a funny concept and this is a

I do agree that people can control their desires - at least to a certain extent. The idea strikes me as one that can be used for liberal or conservative ends. Conservatives have certainly argued before that if you can alter your desires, why not go with the conventional options? But expanding desire in a diverse

Hellraiser 3 isn’t art but it’s fun. And it has the greatest Cenobite, the CD Cenobite.

There have been so many lousy later sequels in this series that even a Goyer-written one has to be an improvement.  At least it indicates there’s a decent budget.

I can’t think of a single comics story that would fit the MCU Agatha - and I love that! While I like the story adaptations, this is the chance to craft a fresh story and perhaps bring in new characters, while giving us more Kathryn Hahn doing witchy stuff. Sounds like fun to me.

Casting a teen (I saw her age listed as 17 online so she’s not even a young teen) as Claudia is such a bad creative decision that it makes me question the value of the whole TV adaptation. A child vampire is a perverse tragedy; a teen one is the type you get in Twilight or CW shows.

The problem is that if they keep to the point that Rhaenyra and Aegin II are both bad rulers, there will be quite a problem with audience engagement. Granted, Martin doesn’t write purely good and evil characters, but there were definitely more sympathetic characters in GOT.  I wonder which ones will get the

There’s actually not much suspense about the plot.  Unlike the GOT series proper, Martin has let out all the plot points for this story and you can easily find them online, though some minor elements might be tweaked.

In a way, his odd appearance kind of added to his appeal/defense. This guy may look like a weirdo but he’s actually a nice funny man who helps others! Whereas the reality was that he was even creepier than he looked.

Yeah, that’s probably it. But that’s not such a bad plot device, is it? It isn’t for everyone and I get why people get upset when, say, a show like Battlestar Galactica went there, but a large percentage of people believe in God, so why not use that in stories sometimes?

I always adopt my cats from shelters. But I also fell in love with the Maine Coon breed after an abandoned one wandered into my father’s office complex and into my heart. They are simply the best cats in looks and personality.  So I’ve been on a quest in the subsequent decade for shelter Maine Coons, which has

While Tom King has written some quality comics, his work in the last couple of years since he finished the Mister Miracle mini has honestly been pretty bad. And DuVernay is obviously a big talent but she still hasn’t established herself in sci-fi/fantasy projects.  I wonder if there was some script trouble.

You should add 60 Minutes and CBS to the list too because they did a piece tonight with even more experts on the subject that endorsed the lab leak as a legit theory. I even read a piece on the very liberal site Salon saying it was a plausible idea. This isn’t just an idea for Trumpists anymore.

Not putting the date on the movie when it is a common title is one of the more annoying things about these lists. That said, it is almost always the newer film, especially if the older movie is pre-1980, films or series which Netflix almost never bothers with.

I have to admire his seemingly genuine nerdy passion for this character when he could have played any number of higher profile comic book characters.

On a non-Black Widow note, if I was a Pixar employee, I think I would be kind of bothered that Disney keeps treating their films as non-premium Disney + freebies with Soul and now Luca (plus Onward debuted free after a short theatrical run). Way to undervalue the Pixar brand! As a Disney + subscriber, I am quite

I certainly respect those who want to stay away from theaters. But I will get my second shot Thursday, thanks for my Meals on Wheels volunteering, and I plan on going to see Godzilla Vs. Kong in the theaters once my two week safety period is over, assuming cases remain low. I will certainly see Black Widow when it
