It depends heavily on where you look (State and Province). I can’t say I know the minimum for all states but most of the recent numbers I looked up briefly on Google suggest it’s only about $2 higher in Canada. Some states it’s basically equal.
Not to mention the fact that I highly doubt that they’ll lower the price once the Canadian dollar. Salaries aren’t all that different in Canada so this price just hurts the chances of convincing people to pick it up since it’s a larger purchase compared to the competition (Xbox One).
I’ve never heard of Ross prior to watching this video. Never seen a GameGrumps video either. Don’t assume everyone knows the people you’re familiar with :)
You actually can do this now. You receive Steam messages on both systems, and it behaves based on what your most recent activity was (so for online status, if both are away and you change one it will show the most recent status).
It’s called compliance testing at most studios. You’re basically making sure the game “complies” with the first party (Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo) requirements.
Nowhere does it say he didn’t pay the players. Read the article. MYM isn’t being accused of not paying, it was his previous team (though some of the management moved to MYM).
That’s not what he asked. He asked if it supported co-op, not specifically if it could play cross platform.
The main concern with using the camera like this is going to be battery life. A game like Ingress which only uses the screen and GPS already drains the battery extremely quickly. Add in the camera and you’ll have Pokemon adventures lasting very little time at all...
I would be extremely surprised if it has the same depth and gameplay as a typical Pokemon game. Ingress (Niantic’s previous game) is a fun game but very basic. It thrives off the social elements alone.
As someone else said on the other article, I suspect it’s also designed with kids in mind more than anything. Parents can keep hold of the phone while the kid can wear the bracelet and be a pokemon master throwing pokeballs without risk of throwing a phone worth hundreds of dollars.
This exactly. People are getting way too hyped based on a trailer showing nothing more than conceptual things.
Highly doubt it would get Hololens integration. There’s no augmented reality element shown other than go to places, find pokemon. People have this misunderstanding that there’s going to be pokemon layered on top of the real world using the camera or something.
There’s literally nothing to say or show how battle mechanics would work. If anything the fact that in the trailer a dude seems to be attacked without his knowledge suggests to me that you have a “lead” pokemon that auto fights if people attack you rather than having any actual control over the combat. I hope I’m…
Portal creation requires submitting it to Niantic and waiting for approval. My wife and I tried to submit a few and only 1 was approved (a church). They have guidelines on what can be used for portals, with parks, art, religious sites, and graffiti (interesting/cool graffiti anyway) being the most common but my area…

I have the same problem with Ingress personally. I live outside of Montreal and I have to walk 20+ minutes to the closest Ingress portal to me. When I travel into Montreal itself the map is flooded with content.
If it works anything like Ingress, not being in a big city will put you at a major disadvantage or make regular play borderline impossible.
Nintendo isn’t making this. Niantic is. They made Ingress which is basically the same idea but you travel to parks and stuff to claim them for your faction in a global “battle” for resources.
Most likely it will be like Ingress. No “pokemon AR” directly, just shown on the map on your phone. You won’t see 3D battles happening like they show on the trailer.
