I know it’s uncouth to say anything that isn’t foaming-at-the-mouth, rapturous praise when it comes to Rihanna, buuuuuut
A-fucking-men. You can give it all the fancy names you want, but a giant roach straight from deepest, darkest hell is still a giant roach straight from deepest, darkest hell.
The ‘Palm-Etto Bugs’ they keep correcting me - itsagiantfuckingcockroachyousonofabitch!
The school might not have a nurse - none of the ones I attended ever did. But in schools that do have nurses, it seems reasonable both for the nurse to have some (in case it’s a girl’s first one or there’s something about it that concerns her) and to provide an option for girls to find products in the bathroom and…
First off, this is fucking awesome!
It never would’ve occurred to me that this sort of thing should be prioritized for younger girls, but you’re absolutely right. I remember how nervous I was about the fact that my first period could happen anytime, anywhere, and I was most afraid that it might happen at school. Can you imagine what a comfort it would…
You mean the wad that slowly and stealthily migrated up your asscrack over the course of an hour?
That’s why I have money set aside every month that I buy up a bunch of pads and tampons with, and then I donate them to women’s shelters. Pads and tampons for everyone!
:( I had to do that for a few years, and it is terrible.
Free tampons will just encourage the kids to have periods!
No. I bleed like a stuck pig + clots for texture. Trying to maneuver a full menstrual cup in a public restroom is grosser than gross. We all have to deal with life’s hurdles in our own way.
They are certainly expensive, and not the most environmentally friendly choice, but not everyone can use a menstrual cup. I tried, and it was difficult to put in, and painful to take out. It just doesn’t work for some people. Some people can’t justify spending $20 to find out if they like it or not. Some people are…
This is awesome. I support this. No one should have to suffer because of a biological process that is not in their control. Check out this article from my local university’s newspaper! Boise State University in conservative Idaho is going to be doing free hygiene products in the SUB building—they will probably expand…
I’ve done it as an adult...
I somehow obtained the key to the dispenser in my high school and would just hand them out. The thick as hell pads left a lot to be desired though.
This wasn’t already a thing? My schools were about as regressive as public schools could be by law, and we still had free pad and tampon machines at the junior high and the high school.
Thank you!! As a kid with super poor parents, I was certainly not walking around with extra quarters in my pockets to buy a big pad if I needed one. I did the poor kid half-an-inch-of-toilet-paper-wad in my pants. I’m not the only one, right?
