Except instead of owning up to it he consistently lied to consumers before and after launch. This isn’t about not meeting expectations or being over ambitious or even about not having a PR manager. This is about a developer blatantly lying consistently to consumers before launch, as well as afterward to hide the fact

Exactly. This article is outright embarrassing, acting as though this guy deserves a fucking medal after all this time. They’re literally ignoring the constant lies by this guy and pretending he did the best he could with what he had.

No he’s not, he’s just jaded, as he has a right to be, because of how much they lied about this game before and during launch.

It’s easy when the game was so overhyped, especially by the gaming media, that they sold millions and were able to fund themselves to actually be able to deliver what the game should have been.

The Hello team is also relishing the positivity emerging from their big hit. They keep an internal website, Murray said, “where we put all the nice things and the way the game has impacted people.””

It really couldn’t have been much worse tbh. The game was laggy, buggy, crashed, had multiple features that were claimed to exist not actually in the game, and all this while the developers smiled and said “it’s ‘cause so many people are playing”.

They overhyped it themselves, how many video game developers go on late night shows to market their game?

It still astounds me how people completely overlook this. Days after the launch when people were claiming that multiplayer doesn’t even exist they made excuses and acted like the servers were just overwhelmed. This was after months of hyping the game up and talking about it having multiplayer.

Between physical creation and distribution of the hardware AND retailers profit margins, yea, it all adds up. People conveniently like to forget that Best Buy and Walmart were making 25-30% on each sale while the developers were making closer to 5-10% after everything was said and done. I specifically remember reading

Yet it’s still a detriment to the consumer isn’t it? Instead of providing a similar competitive product to Steam they instead put out a barely working product and buy up exclusives. Yes, they’re paying more to the developers in the end, but they’re also “inconveniencing” us in the process by forcing us to use an

The whole bullshit of Valve’s cut is really over the top. When you consider how much developers are making off their digital sales now and the majority of them no longer needing to produce physical products that completely negates the entire point of complaining about Valve’s cut in all of this. 20 years ago

Exactly. This isn’t a double-dribble like the infamous Chris Webber one where he had a brain fart and stopped dribbling for a second. This kid bounced it off his foot accidentally and recovered the ball. If Virginia was up by 3 and this happened and caused Auburn to have an attempt to tie the game they’d be arguing

Ask yourself this. If Valve were doing the same would people have the same reaction? They should, because they’re essentially forcing users to use a store instead of using incentives for why their store is superior. Not to mention, doing it with a store that is as bare-bones as it gets compared to even some of the

Yea the outrage over this is a bit much considering the circumstances. Firstly, if you call this a foul it’s a ticky-tack double dribble even when you completely ignore the foul done by the Auburn player when he tries to recover the ball. I get that a true double-dribble foul is simply what happened, but considering

In the article it does say that some players viewed him that way, while others didn’t. So it’s very much a matter of perspective I think. And when you look at the overall perspective of the management of the team being atrocious it’s hard for me to really fault Rodgers for some of his behavior.

That’s a valid point, but then we’re also missing a lot of information here. We don’t know the details of conversations that have taken place and don’t know exactly why McCarthy was kept for so long. For instance, the extension Rodger’s signed could have come with a handshake agreement that McCarthy was out if this

Yea, I really don’t get the criticism of Rodgers here. He’s easily one of the best QBs of this generation despite all that’s held him back yet somehow we’re to believe it’s his and McCarthy’s fault that the team sucks?

Exactly why doesn’t he deserve support? He’s arguably the second greatest quarterback of this generation, yet he’s had practically zero help from management and coaching to actually win games. I’d say because of that he has reason to be an asshole.

I can’t say it nicely so I’ll just recommend your post here. Not everyone should expect every game to cater to their needs or desires. We’re so spoiled as gamers, let’s not get even more spoiled by requesting developers to create games not how they want to, but how we want to.

I don’t mean to be a dick about this, I really don’t, but I’m seriously sick of people asking for games to be developed to their standards. We’re seriously spoiled as gamers at this point with so many games that you couldn’t possibly have enough time in the world to play through all of even only the games you like.
