Good evening, all. Thankful for an early SNS. This is going to be a straight-up vent but the tl;dr version is that I’m struggling with anxiety and could use some positive thoughts.

He’s the sacrificial lamb here and Jez jumped all over that opportunity to nail Billy, since they can’t go after Trump.
Yep. No assertion that it was not consensually sent, and really no indication that the woman knew the man she was DM’ing was married.

I’m shocked if men even read what I write. A few years ago I tried doing that cute thing where I wrote in my profile “tell me about the last book you read!” and almost no one addressed it. I also get questions about my marital status and whether I’m looking for a serious relationship, when that stuff is already on my…
I call bullshit on this. Do you know how many men have **nothing at all** in their Tinder and Bumble profiles? I don’t for a second believe they look at anything but the pictures.
I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the show since the gang rape by the Waterfords a couple of weeks ago. When the show seemed to care more about how it impacted the Waterfords’ relationship than how it impacted June (who had literally five minutes of PTSD, then saw her daughter and had a new baby and just…
Do they make money by having their photos on Instagram? Or are they making money by doing modeling gigs, but just using instagram to self-promote? (Actual question, since I’m not on instagram at all.)
Handmaid’s Tale the Lingerie!
That sounds like someone who is on a path to abusive behavior. If you’re going to blab your partners’ sexual habits to the family and extended circle of family friends without their consent, that’s a big red flag for a lack of empathy or respect for others.
Here’s what groups in the UK have said. I’m not entirely sure about my own feelings on the topic, but I can definitely see how a metal straw is not a great alternative for many people.
My thinking is that it’s always easier to to get a few hundred businesses to change what they offer than it is to get a few million people to change their habits.
Yeah, the irony particularly struck me at Whole Foods because the organic tomatoes were only available in a plastic clamshell package. Seemed quite self-defeating.
I think the complaints from people with special needs (at least, from what I’ve seen on social media) are that: 1) Disability exemptions haven’t been written into some of the policies, and 2) while there are alternatives, production hasn’t ramped up fast enough and there is now a shortage.
Commenting only to say that I was in Whole Foods this morning and it struck me how absurd it is the amount of single-use plastic that’s still hanging around grocery stores. There’s really no reason for the little plastic produce bags, or for clamshell packaging on things like tomatoes, etc.
No, she did not sound different at all. She enunciates and is crisp in her speech but... she’s an actress, so I’m sure she already knew how to do that.
I’ll go out on a limb and say she’s not going to take a subtle approach.
Yeah, this is what really kills me. It’s not even just that she takes on this role in the first place, it’s that: 1) she’s done this kind of thing before, 2) she doesn’t care, and 3) she’s pretty broadly advertising well in advance that she thinks she’ll get accolades for her work.
No need to BYO. The revolution will have a taco truck on every corner.
...doing it alone is not an altogether welcome approach in modern America (not that it ever really was).
