The best relationship I ever had was with a man five years younger than me. He told me he didn’t want to get married or have kids until he was 40, and that was... pretty much it.

I don’t do “weight training” in terms of lifting, but doing a pretty intensive yoga class once a week and throwing in some crunches, push-ups, and squats with a medicine ball after my runs has been great for me. I also started taking a multivitamin that’s formulated to boost metabolism, and I use a calorie counter app…
This is often true if you’re on a renewing contract, but I am not. I stopped being an employee of the university completely on the last day of May, so for me there was no possibility to spread pay out over the summer because I’m not on the payroll anymore at all.
I’ve been working on academic-year contracts for the past couple of years, meaning I don’t get paid over the summer, and it’s rough. I get through every year but run down most of my savings—i.e., I never seem to get ahead. That will change with my next job, but it’s definitely depressing to be in my late 30s and feel…
Good luck and thanks for everything!
The master would not approve... of you missing this tour.
Just wanted to chime in and say that this sounds like my ex. We broke up after he blew me off on Valentine’s Day. This followed months of me doing most of the work in the relationship. I told him he had hurt me and his response was basically to tell me to fuck off. That was it for me; if someone doesn’t care that…
I basically only travel by myself at this point... I went to Colombia alone most recently. As long as you speak Spanish and don’t mind people chastising you once a day for being by yourself, it’s a fine time. You can also get some really cheap plane tickets if you work it right.
I was listening to “The Winner Takes it All” last weekend and had all kinds of feelings (after most of a bottle of wine).
Now we’re doing spinoffs of reboots. Sounds about right for 2018.
I was mad at Nick in that scene, but then it occurred to me that they’re playing it in a valid way. He’s the guy who is in a relationship but completely checked out emotionally. A young guy who can’t or doesn’t want to be responsible for her feelings, so he becomes distant and mean and hopes that she’ll eventually…
I’m cringing because I dated a guy who, after six months, claimed he didn’t feel “safe” putting me on his social media. Allegedly some other ex-girlfriend had been passive-aggressive on his Facebook in the past and I was supposed to prove myself in an unspecified way in order to gain his online approval. That was…
This is also the second time we’ve seen an interaction like this between her and a man who isn’t her husband— There was an interaction between her and Waterford when he came back to the hospital and she offered him a gift. She seemed kind of giddy over getting his approval.
He should show her some positive reinforcement, at a minimum. She is a child with no relationship experience, and she has been force-fed the line that it is good and praiseworthy to submit to your husband and procreate. She has gotten praise from the Waterfords and others around her, but she doesn’t get it from Nick.…
Yeah... It seems like chalk writing referencing love and Jesus is pretty civil discourse. This guy may yet find out that there are way less respectful things that could be written outside his office.
If any of you aren’t aware of this history, please watch the recent American Experience special on the Chinese Exclusion Act. It nicely illustrates the point about America never living up to its ideals, but there are also some very troubling similarities to the current environment: Political discourse labelling all…
Troll.
I agree on a lot of this, but not the dirty talker. I got sick of that really quickly.
Spot on review!
