As a high school principal, I must tell you that the school board response here is the best choice. It makes the school’s position crystal clear, sends the strongest message, and is the only guarantee that the incident will not be repeated with future classes. I actually checked to see if this was published by The Onion. Evidently not, but it gave me a good laugh anyway.
Perhaps it isn’t baffling. Perhaps their surveys/research show that Dove is purchased almost exclusively by whites and East Asians, and almost never by blacks? In which case,their marketing campaign has concluded successfully.
My impression is that many films, especially the blockbusters, make the majority of their money overseas and gave done so for a while.
It’s not a documentary, or even a serious “film” but it’s a rollicking good time; we really enjoyed it. Sometimes, diversion is the best entertainment. Nice to see Cruise using his skill set, too. Take it for what it is, and you’ll consider it money well spent.
