Exactly. If looking at this, why not a Class C? Why double the things that can go wrong?

I was in Rome last month, and taking in all I could see of interesting Euro vehicles....

And then I saw it... somehow some brave soul is wheeling this around the streets of Rome. And it certainly screamed America to me then and there.

Would be fun to watch, shame about the human rights record of Saudi Arabia though. Not to mention their aggressor role in the war in Yemen. Yet another event they bought and paid for, I’m sure.

Still, if you can get past that, it’s bound to be a helluva race.

“Thriving wage” these days. “Living wage” is yesterday’s news.

I like these ideas, but yeah the cost thing really becomes apparently. I was drooling over a similarly-grouped Helios O2... love everything about that trailer, except the price. Hard to find one anywhere under 40K CAD / 32K USD. At that price, that buys a lot of hotel rooms...

Having driven around rural Hampshire.... I marvel at your ability to pilot that battlewagon of a car along some of those roads.

I had an ‘84 with the 2.2 and the manual. Maybe I’m a knuckle-dragging neanderthal or something... but the positioning was just fine for me. Seemed to work without having to think about it.

I hate showing my ignorance... but why 2 extra levers below the shifter? Transfer case and hi-low range? Something else I’m not picking up on?

One of my first cars was a 1984 Dodge Caravan with the 2.2 and the 5 speed manual.
Didn’t see too many of those then, certainly don’t anymore for obvious reasons.
(The 2.2 might run forever... but “run” might be a strong word. Saunter? Amble? Crawl?)

“There are 5000 people in Jalopnik. These are their problems.”

Peter’s Drive-In in Calgary. Started in 1964... Still going, and it hasn’t changed much. The burgers are ok, the fries are good (but believe me, order the small unless you’re feeding a family of 4) but as far as I’m concerned it’s the shakes that keep me going back whenever I’m out cowtown way.

Yep, sinking a tanker sure wouldn’t have any disastrous repercussions, no sir. :D

I had an 81 silverado standard cab, longbox. Great truck for the time...I have fond memories of it... but there’s no way I’m throwing 17 large on any example of that generation.

So much dust in here...

Agreed. I grabbed my CX-5 at least partially because it was Soul Red. The dealer was funny on that one “Wait, you actually want red?” “Yes. And you have one on the lot. How handy.”

True to life!

Not a photo of the actual vehicle, but same make and model. That would be a 1967 International Travelall. I was spending a lot of time on my grandparents’ farm, and ended up doing a lot of runs in that for various things.

The bonus is, you can’t kill those things. I tried.

Hell, I owned a first gen Caravan with the 5 speed. And the 2.2. A zero to 60 time of “did I pack a lunch for this?”(that said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen another)
