If they can do this work and live in minimal security conditions, they do not need to be incarcerated. That is sort of what this whole thing boils down to.
You want to save money? Stop putting people in prison who don’t legitimately need to be there.
Storytime:
My aunt who is pro-life. She also had an abortion around 16 weeks a decade ago, and has never expressed regret over it. She was on a chemotherapy drug for her psoriasis. Had a small chance of causing a birth defect (this medication is now generally considered safe in pregnancy, but this wasn’t known then).…
O.M.F.G. (oh my fashionable Gandalf)
Who let her out there dressed like that? Surely she did not choose that top with the idea that she’d wear it in the press room.
My 11 year old brother has developed full blown trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling). I was trying to find an age appropriatesupport or therapy group for him so he can feel less... abnormal. I mean, if he gained some coping skills that’d be great, but just feeling like he’s not alone would be awesome.
Well, that looks like it’s full of ableistic tropes.
I took the final steps to getting into the BSW program at the school I hope to transfer to. I’m waiting for them to receive my letters of recommendation, at which point they’ll schedule an interview.
I wonder how they define “significant income”. My income puts me on the border of Medicaid eligibility- if I cut back on hours (like I’m doing now) I’m eligible, and if I up my hours I’m not.
I’m very obsessive with knowing if I do or don’t qualify at any given time. Right now I’m eligible, and I’m applying because I…
I’ve recently developed rosacea. Every couple of weeks my face turns bright red and breaks out in micro pimples and it’s just lovely.

I love this. Seriously. It’s perfect.
Oh, not more fucking clowns. I spent a good portion of last year attempting to convince tweenagers that no, there aren’t homicidal clowns roaming the streets.
We just had to hospitalize my 12 year old brother for suicidal ideation. Video games and social media were a not-insignificant contributing factor.
This. So much this.
Charlottesville was a fucking failure when it comes to countering. A woman died. Scores were injured, many seriously. A shit ton of white supremacists got their 15 minutes of fame. They also are going to be able to produce propaganda about how they were attacked.
Just a reminder of the SPLC’s recommendations regarding counter protests, as I suspect the hate groups will eventually regroup after their “victory” in Charlottesville and hold another protest.
My town has three drawbridges that are very old. There’s a regular bridge on the highway, and another regular bridge in the next town, but the fact of life is you have to use the drawbridges regularly or drive 20+ minutes out of your way.
One of them went up with *a person* on it. Dude somehow managed to hang on and…
