The general disdain toward the arts is one reason why corporations are going all-in on “AI”. They’re confident consumers don’t really understand what makes art so valuable is what helps them in the end in controlling any and all forms of human expression.

tbh I’m not convinced a few of the latest class of kotaku writer are even real.

¡Cien dolares! Jesús! Jesús! Aha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!”

We shouldn’t normalize DLC, frankly. If they can’t manage delivering an optimized game prior to release, we shouldn’t have to pay AAA game prices, and then half a AAA game for an expansion, and again for another...

I’m a little bothered that I paid $80 for the base game let alone $100 for a DLC.

I think a lot feel this way. Insane pricing aside - most of D4's cosmetics look like hot garbage and all very similar within a given class.

What I find funny about most paid cosmetic DLC is that it is not desirable at all. Like I would be embarrassed to wear it. I mean, yes, some of it looks cool and makes your character look like a badass, but at the same time, I feel like if I were to wear something like that it would just make me look like a sucker.

$30.

That is the price the expansion should be, no more. Cosmetic packages should be a completely separate thing not tied to the expansion.

No

Everything about this game was designed to waste as much time as possible.

I like the game but 100% understand why it’s losing players. The game has great bones... just not enough meat. Past Bethesda games you could just wander endlessly and adventures would naturally happen. You can’t really do that in starfield in the same way, it’s just not as satisfying to play and the things you find

The loading screens.... Even if they are short, there’s just way too many... You’re playing the loading screen game if you’re trying to do any of the building stuff or quests... Even a local quest on the “home” planet is riddled with loading screen every 2 minutes due to having the interiors of buildings triggering a

I now have 360 hours playing Starfield, and counting. I’m enjoying the game, it has a lot going for it. But all the enjoyment is to a large degree undermined by the monotony of things like the drab writing, the goody-two-shoes character, the tired Bethesda formula, and no alien races. I mean....NO ALIEN RACES??? This

Honestly this is exactly the thing I’ve come to expect from a Bethesda game. Compelling writing was never their strong suit. Worldbuilding and aesthetics? Sure. Deep characters and narrative? Nah. I don’t remember Skyrim or Fallout for the characters or story, but definitely do for the environments. I have yet to

This story is one big nothingburger. Yes, Bethesda made some design decisions that a good number of people have an issue with, but there are a good number of us (myself included) who genuinely enjoy Starfield. I personally don’t mind the repeated content very much, and the serenity of wandering an empty planet or moon

Because it’s not a good game? They may have intentionally designed the game to be played for a long time, but the content isn’t the main ingredient in that formula. They padded the whole thing out by making everything take forever to do. Menus, getting in and out of your ships pilot seat, the distance between you

So I really liked Starfield, and I suspect a lot of the negativity around it has to do with expectations, which Bethesda not only failed to manage but actively encouraged the hype.

It’s fun. But it’s shallow. 1000 miles wide, and 1 inch deep.

I played through the story, did all major side quests, dabbled in ship and outpost building and felt satisfied. That was 120 Hours. I got my fill and quit until DLC comes out that seems worthwhile to revisit. I’ve since moved onto other games.
