But a lot of the criticisms are that it does still feel like an MCU movie. Just a long boring one.

I hope so. I got tired of Marvel shortly after Infinity War. 

They just want the slight bump of prestige. All of their movies are prevised years ahead of time and then they just plug in a director for the acting scenes. Like, I can’t even get excited about Sam Raimi coming back because it’ll still mostly be premade Marvel product to tie into Disney+ shows and set up whatever…

I ate a lot of it in High School and remember it being pretty good in the early 2000s. Nothing amazing, but it’d do it’s job. I don’t know when I last had it now so really can’t speak about the quality of it today. 

Yeah, it makes sense. As long as they’re making these things forever they might as well shake it up a bit.

I thought Card was treated like Rowling now too. At least usually when I see people talk him about him online it’s about what a terrible person he is. I loved Ender as a kid, but the rest of his books are not the best and it’s incredibly easy to not support him too. The Ender’s Game movie was just bad.

I don’t need a pandemic thing, but I do need Mackenzie Davis being in things. So I might give it a watch.

Well, none of us have the script or even a plot synopsis. I imagine Nolan will do something cool with it.

I wish Jared Leto wasn’t involved, because I do like Sony making these weird horror adjacent superhero movies. 

Because spoilers it has ghosts in it and Bill Murray makes a cameo or something.

Beneath the endless murder scenes are also scenes of assassin guilds that have a vast mythology that’s made up as the series goes along.

That’s a lot of anger over a casting announcement. And Gen Z isn’t the primary audience for this movie. It’s for the Millennials who can then introduce their kids to Hocus Pocus.

It drains all the whimsy inherit in the series and is just a dark bore.
