the remaining shareholders bought their shares knowing full well of this arrangement. if they were not comfortable with investing into a company run by a single family, they wouldn’t have bought their stock. i’m not going to lose sleep feeling bad for them over this. if you don’t want to invest in a nepotistic

I stand corrected. I did not realize this detail. But note that the majority of the shares and board seats are not publicly traded and remain with a single family. It is still a family-owned company that has put a minority equity stake up as stock to raise outside capital. It’s not like there is a full board elected

HamNo thinks he’s so funny. He isn’t.

I’m pretty amazed you managed to write a post-retirement Mo Vaughn story that (a) says he lives in Cleveland and (b) doesn’t mention that he’s a notorious, frequently sued slum lord of below-the-poverty-line apartments in the Bronx. Kind of a crucial detail about post-retirement Mo Vaughn!

Just an FYI, you might want to read your own posts before you condescend to responses to your posts! If the stat was a “median” why did you say “average”? Those two words are not interchangeable.

Thanks for the clarification. But why do they call it the “average rent” when it isn’t? That’s confusing labeling.

Follow NCAA basketball much?

Just fyi, so you can make more convincing points in the future: mean rent is a really misleading statistic. Means are biased by high outliers. A small number of astronomically expensive apartments in several nice neighborhoods (beacon hill, west cambridge, new condos in the financial district, etc) will pull up the

I support the strike. Just wanted to say that because I know my comment is about to get a shit ton of angry replies.

“So, the whole “Just build it yourself instead of expecting the party that claims to support the same issues to listen to you” stance is disingenuous”

“Maybe the DNC needs to work on bulking up the areas down ticket instead of magically thinking they’ll appear.” the DNC only picks candidates by fiat when their aren’t primary challengers. You want more progressive senate candidates in Iowa? ORGANIZE TO RUN IN A PROGRESSIVE IN A FUCKING PRIMARY AND THEN ACTUALLY GO

Also, if you really want to move this country left you need to realize that PREDISDENTS DONT MAKE ANYTHING CLOSE TO A MAJORITY OF POLICY DECISIONS IN OUR GOVERNMENT. Its not just that we elect a president and we get everything we want. If you’ve paid any attention to politics for the last 8 years you should know that

I agree. As a die-hard Giants fan I’m getting so disheartened with him. I kept shouting at my TV last night “don’t be such a baby!”

To be a little bit fair to Goddell (which, btw, fuck him), the only person to have been ejected based on this new rule is the Giants center, Weston Richburg, who is about as hillbilly white guy as they come...

This sure would be less arbitrary.

Thanks for posting this. But the clear angle he could have taken to get to the sideline completely clear of DRC is to run completely straight out of bounds right where he caught it. That would be the 48 yard line. And a 65 yard field goal, which is longer than the longest field goal in NFL history.

Yes. It was not obvious to me watching in real time that he could have gotten out of bounds. DRC was already right there. I’d say 50-65% chance he gets tackled in bounds anyway even if he doesn’t make a brain fart. The reality is that they lost the game, and not just because of Terrance Williams

The Ice Bucket challenge... which actually worked at raising a shit ton of money that funded direct scientific breakthroughs in research on ALS...

Its not as simple as saying “go unionize”.

YES. Indeed: “it’s a family who understands that it’s PRE-EXISTING (prior to the creation of the Foundation) popularity, influence and position in the world could be used to extract money for humanitarian causes where that money might not be extracted otherwise.”
