You just wrote a signifigantly better article than this “journalist”. I’m american and I hope we are not so ignorant as to be swayed by such poor writing. 😧

I’m not sure that’s the whole picture. All things equal, those things would make the difference. But all things are not equal. The US kill a staggering amount of people both abroad and within the US; the US incarceration rate is over 5x that of “totalitarian” China, US murder rate is 4x, US literacy rate is probably…
I like my Nexus 6p a lot, and while I don’t think it’s ok for the Chinese or US to spy on people’s devices, the fact is, they do. It doesn’t require software backdoors. I always assume I’m being monitored by my devices and conduct myself accordingly. We use a VPN at home, we’re mindful of cameras and microphones, and…
Do you have any proof that Huawei is spying on people Patrick? You don’t, because there isn’t any, there isn’t any evidence of intention, there is nothing there, just smoke and mirrors.
This is exactly how I feel about the Russian election-meddling scandal. The United States has interfered in every Russian election since 1917.
Exactly what I was thinking. “Go buy a Google phone”, they say. I look at the back of my Nexus 6P and there it is: “HUAWEI”. Well shit.
Cheaters are usually the most suspicious guys. So if US Intelligence is telling me that Chinese IT spies on behalf of the Chinese government, I’m taking it as, mostly, meaning US IT spies on behalf of the US government.
Well we have to be honest...this is a very biased view of the situation obviously... and honestly, from my (European) point of view I could also say “avoid Apple, it’s US American..that’s NSA spyware!” ...
and you guys are missing out on a great phone (I own the Huawei Mate 10 Pro - never had a better Android so…
Easy win for the QX80. Gas and insurance are super cheap when you’re too embarrassed to take your car out of the garage.
All good info, but I notice you don’t mention using an ad blocker.
Top 15 Cars people can’t be bothered to trade in.
I switched TO Chrome from FireFox last year because FireFox was such a memory hog. I have a half-dozen or more tabs open at one time and it was using 500MB or more. Chrome right now using 350MB.
I hear they upgraded FF to help with these issues, but I’m going to stick with Chrome until it gives me issues as I’m not…
Research also proves that no one respects the item limit for express/speedy checkouts, and that there’s nothing “express” or “speedy” about them except that they’re sometimes placed closer to the door.
Ads, not adds. It’s fucking ads, for fuck’s sake.
I don’t get notifications from the Amazon app at all. I get an email when items ship and that is good enough for me.
Sorry to break it to you, but the Firefox engineering team didn’t use your own personal preferences as their bible. Ridiculous, I know.
That is what I do. I buy last years beastly model, usually when its on some sort of “back to school” sale so its only about 20% more than a mid-range model. Then I use it until it starts to become an issue, like the battery isnt holding a charge. Until then Ive never had a phone that kept me from doing 99% of what I…
Don’t get mid-range phones. I say get last year’s “flagship” phone if you want something up to day and top notch. They normally trounce mid-range device, and if you use some of the cellphone selling sites (ebay, swappa), you can get them pretty “cheap”.
Apple deliberately sabotages their new OS’s so that they make older phones seem slow and clapped out so that people will be encouraged to upgrade. It’s as simple as that. There is no reason why these new OS’s should require so much more CPU power - there’s nothing particularly CPU intensive about them, and the…
What’s the story behind Anker? They seem to have come out of nowhere with some great products. Would be interesting to see Gizmodo do an in-depth about the company.
