Articles like this just remind me that we all inevitably become our parents.

Of course he does, that’s why he sold it.

“I literally had it as a centerpiece on my dinner table”

Seems like if it was money laundering, all the press attention these record-setting auctions attract would be a bad idea.

These transactions always feel like money laundering.  Just like that sealed SMB that went for $2mil.

Pet Rocks, I Can Has Cheezeburger, and Where’s the Beef all have Wikipedia articles.

I hate it here.

Yes! This is easily my most anticipated MCU film post-Endgame and this looks amazing in so many ways.

Well, don’t get any more clearer than this that e-sports have nothing to do with gamers anymore and that normal people have taken over it.

I think crocs are ugly, but they’re not offensive? If they want to ban logos and political/offensive writing and slogans, I absolutely agree, but no crocs, no flip flops, no beanies? Why?

Apparently they’re very comfy. I know a few healthcare workers who swear by them for 12-hour hospital shifts (albeit close-toed versions for obvious reasons).

At least the back didn’t shatter and break.

I doubt it’s going to be a problem. It wasn’t for the ~10 years of regular cell phones before the smartphone, it wasn’t for the first 10 years of smartphones when swappable batteries were more common, and it still isn’t for the smartphones that allow swappable batteries today.

When I got my first XBox controller last year, I scoffed that it still used AA batteries. I jokingly asked “what year is it”. But I discovered it’s not without merit. I use rechargeable batteries for that and I noticed it lasts a lot longer than my DualShock and DualSense controllers. (The flaw, of course, is that

I never understood why people shit on Xbox controllers for using batteries. I love having more options for how I can power my controllers (USB cable, rechargeable batteries [I use Eneloops and Amazon Basics], disposable batteries [which I don’t use, but they are an option], and battery packs).

ah yes because my 3DS totally didn’t have a battery that I replaced myself with a double capacity one using a standard screw driver and requiring nothing else to be removed. that definitely didn’t happen and it totally isn’t sitting in the next room.

<sigh> of course it won’t be single use batteries, it’s actually like the PSP or earlier smartphones, that had proprietary but removable batteries. Now they’re glued in so that they CAN’T be replaced, or make it more difficult than using a screwdriver. It’s only about planned obsolescense, and the lew is trying to

Huh, I seem to remember the first 6 cell phones that I owned all had replaceable batteries, and none of them AA’s.

... I’m not sure what to make of this comment! In your mind the smart move was to rape a child?

Any app that won’t launch in the EU over ‘regulatory concerns’ is actively bad for you.
