Exactly! I followed these quite closely when they came out and guys were grenading these things left and right.  There is no way he is on the stock and/or original rear end.  I don’t remember if the original rear was the Getrag cited in the description.

I owned a 2005 CTS-V. Loved it despite it’s many flaws. I had to CP this one.

Who puts on long-tube headers, free-flowing exhaust, and lightened flywheel, and a blower and drives gently?

Let me drop a little lawyer on you:

Q: You’re 70 now?

A: That’s correct

Q: So, we’re to believe you’re a gentle-driving retiree, is that it?

A: Why, yes, sonny, that’s right.

oh, also going with a lift somewhat doubles your real estate. you are only building & paying taxes on a 2-car garage footprint but you can stack an additional car. Its a way to increase your space without going super big on the shop.

I worked at a shop with an old spring compressor. One day a co-worker forgot to put the pin in that held the 2 halves of the clamshell type assembly together. Fortunately, when the spring popped out it didn’t get him very good. He had only had a small cut on his upper lip.

I’ve done it. Sure it’s dangerous. Possibly as dangerous as jacking up a car and crawling underneath it.

The ones hurt or killed are probably the same ones who don’t use jack stands.  In other words, careless and cheap and not using decent correct tools for the job.

“We did some digging to find out what religion the Pope is, the answer will SHOCK you.”

I tend to agree, but is it really just urban legend fear surrounding them or is there really a pile of dead shade-tree mechanics from exploding compressed springs?

Anywhere they want.

I agree with everything except the last two words. When we are dealing with very real Nazis in America right now calling the environment lobby nazis just makes you look like a putz.

Next up: “Bears. Where do they poop?”

That is a big one. This last winter was legitimately 6 months long for us in the northern midwest. Thats a huge limiting factor.

About to install a two-post lift in my purpose built 1000 sq. ft. garage/shop and I might pee myself with excitement. I expect to do some serious damage with air tools on a few GM & Ford classics in the very near future. I’m hoping that a 30,000 BTU mini-split HVAC will help tame the Alabama summers...

Now playing

I went with a Rotary 2-post 3 years ago.

I love wrenching also. As long as there is no deadline.

Never had the battery go dead on my air tools.....

Well, yeah, but air tools can be had cheap; it’s fun to scavenge them from yard-estate-Craigslist sales;  and no batteries to worry about it.  Yup, they’re loud, but if you want to dip your toes in the water without laying out serious money, it’s a very good way to go.

Yesterday I found out I can spend $5k less and end up with a 100% legal Viper.
