I think my favorite bit of Merlin trivia is that the engine was built under license by Packard, and was used in a Canadian-licensed version of the Hawker Hurricane.

Yes, RR’s are only classy and desirable as new or classic cars.
Drug dealers.
never forget the drug dealers.
the pattern is simple: Golf gti -> BMW x6 -> RR Ghost if they’re still not in prison by then.
They won’t mind it’s not new, plus it’s easier to buy with dirty money ^^
Even more fun: Lot’s of ‘em ended up in ‘murcan P-51s!
3) people with a YouTube channel looking for content. “I bought a cheap used Rolls and you’ll never guess what happened next.”
Or Bring a Trailer or anything other than CL.
Yeah, I don’t see too many people with $90k shopping for an 8-year-old Rolls. Not a classic, not modern enough to be a status-symbol...too rich for my blood.
There’s a reason why you these depreciate so fast, there are generally two types of people in the world 1) those who can afford a new unfarted in one and wouldn’t dare consider buying a “used” one and 2) those who if they had 90k would rather start a collection of less pretentious vehicles..
Only red flag on this is why is it being advertised on Craigslist and not DuPont registry (I suppose it might be as well I haven’t checked)?
Fun fact - most of the Merlin engines were actually put to use in the Avro Lancaster bombers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Lancaster
I’m kinda surprised eBay sells anything; when I tried to sell my pick-gun, guy said “We don’t let anybody sell guns on eBay.” When I (correctly) pointed out that it wasn’t a firearm, he gave me the excuse, “Oh, well, we don’t let anybody sell lockpicks on eBay without a locksmith license,” as if such a thing existed.
Exactly. They're like an arms dealer supplying two rival militias--making money coming and going!
Right, how very simple. Not only do you need to carry a special key, but a screwdriver too.
*70s* sedan. No way they had new(ish) car when the show started.
Good thing Amazon is indiscriminate. Not only they provide scammers with the lock, they also provide the victims with the lock pick. For a price, of course.
Or the “flaming hacksaw”.
Bring on the smoke wrench!
I only need one tool -
Agreed, but I get super paranoid about the security of my locks when I’ve watched a few of his videos. In a sense, locks are more psychological than actually secure. They’re good at keeping most of the people from taking your stuff, but the determined or knowledgable can still help themselves.
Lock Picking Lawyer is one of those fascinating Youtube channels for me. I have next to no interest in picking locks, but I’ve watched so many of his videos. They’re calm, professional and interesting.
