@mychen: Have you ever looked inside a normal tower? They are not much proof against dust unless you have some sort of filters over the air inputs.

Well, I don't imagine any low bandwidth content will be effected by this fight, so I have to say the biggest concerns I have are streaming video.

@workman: I do use the bar if I know approximately where in a long document I want to jump, but that is about it.

I am not usually too troubled by these sorts of things, but the scroll bar clicking does really bother me for some reason. It is so slow, and usually looks so uncomfortable when people do it.

That is kind of incredible looking. I am going to have to start messing around with GeekTool.

@bawheid: Seriously. At least take us far enough to be somewhere warm. NYC to Miami vacuum train? Much better.

@the.mr.wolf: I once saw a guy using an iPod with a dead battery connected to a Powerbook with a dead hard drive... It was an exciting example of disabled electronics taking on a symbiotic lifestyle.

@Super_Pickle: I make great use of cold air... Beer goes out on the porch until it is cold enough, then comes inside. Tada! Free refrigeration.

@zhinker: I'm not saying we have never interfered with an oil producing nation. I'm just saying that if you think we took those actions to secure oil, you are not looking at all the facts.

@Make.Sense: It's not the first attempted assassination in US history, it will likely not be the last. Was the US about to crumble when Lincoln was shot? How about Kennedy? Surely our nation was about to crumble after that event.

@Triborough: Haven't noticed those, though I will admit I don't pay a lot of attention to the NYPD cars. I just note the paint job and consider that enough in most situations.

Bed is often a good bet. I can spread papers out all around me and I tend to be pretty comfortable.

The question I have: Verizon has a long and varied history of limiting the features of their phones. I don't know what their recent track record is on such things, but do we have any indication that they are doing something of that sort here?

This is so absolutely true it is ridiculous. I have 3 HDMI cables in my system right now, 2 super cheap ones from Amazon and one from Monoprice.

I just don't get it. Even if it is some sort of big brother move, it would be hard to get people to use it. Unless they are about to start mandating industry standards (that would go over real well...) it won't mean much.

Legroom is a big one on the plane itself. I am 6'2", and often have my knees crammed into the seat in front of me (I feel really bad when I see someone taller getting on a plane). Forget about fitting a laptop on the tray table...

@CaptainJack: For US ships and others, but not for all ships. The US law is kind of funny anyway, and has been argued about recently.

@SmallShark: I think most shipping companies are leery about arming their crews. It can cause problems (both actual and political) when you put in to a port sometimes. Also if you do get attacked there are more dangerous things on board to cause problems.
