@JohnDeere: Don't watch TNG from the beginning, start at season 3. The first season was like the original series without as much charm, and the second isn't exactly stellar.

I have 3. I have been putting off buying a 4th for a while, but I think I will as soon as I can get a blue one with motion plus integrated.
Well, I have a 2o09 13" Macbook pro... No use posting pictures, they all look the same. I do play games on it though (thank you Steam!). I have been trying to think of something suitably fancy to etch into it, but all of it's personal character is currently supplied by a rather large dent on the lid...
@SWarnock: That is a great idea, I'll have to try it. I would promote you if I could ;)
I learned to pick locks way back at HOPE 5. It is good fun, and occasionally comes in handy. Of course, it is illegal to sell lockpicks in NY state, so I generally have to make do with substandard tools...
I didn't know we ever stopped believing this... My great grandmother was struck by lightening while washing the dishes once.
@Andrew Gutierrez: Yeah, that's a problem I always had with Superman: It is a story, so I will suspend disbelief and allow him to have whatever powers he has, but why do normal objects seem to act differently around him?
I think there is a way that Apple can hurt Nintendo: Grabbing that elusive "casual gamer" crowd that Nintendo talks about. They tried for a while with the DS, and made some gains, but they really managed with the Wii.
I use my Wii for Netflix. Don't have a PS3 or 360, so there aren't a lot more options for me to use consoles for more.
That would be great. I really only use iPhoto. Occasionally I mess around with Garageband, but not enough that I would pay to upgrade it, and the rest of the programs I just don't use.
APT? You need a choice for "One click, auto-updating apps on my desktop? Got that."
I definitely favor my Dell Mini 9 over an iPad. I like the look of the 11" MBA, but I can't really see replacing my Dell at that cost. It helps that I have my Dell hackintoshed, but I can do ok with Windows or Ubuntu if I need to.
Well, I currently have a Dell Mini 9 that I used to run OS X on, but the 32GB drive I had burned out and I am back to the stock 8GB. I was getting really tempted to replace the SSD again and get Snow Leopard back on there, but this is a tempting option.
I don't know how I feel about the "app" centric paradigm. I know the current OS X paradigm is application centric, but app has taken on a much more controlled meaning in the wake of the rise of smartphones.
I am wary of Automator since the iTunes 10 update broke iTunes Automator function. It was great having my alarm clock stop functioning the next morning...
@iforwms: You'll here a lot of anecdotal evidence, but from a simple physics perspective: by leaving your battery plugged in you are constantly topping off it's charge. It's not the worst thing you can do, but if you aren't using the computer while you do so you are effectively "wasting" charge cycles (or at least…
Eh, too much work for too little gain. If I was that concerned with not paying iPhone data rates I would get a dumb phone and an iPod touch.
Yay! I have been wishing for this since they announced the disc.
@quobetah: I run it on a Mini 9 (same specs). It runs ok, with a few points of minor slowdown that I assume a non-netbook user would not notice (why I felt ok recommending it).
@paravorheim: It has a few changes meant for lower power CPUs, but nothing is Atom specific. If you install the packages over a normal Ubuntu install you will have the same basic OS with a different GUI over top.
